Controlling other devices
The TV's remote control can operate other devices such
as cable converter boxes, satellite receivers, VCRs, DVD
players, and HTIBs (home theater in a box).
‘Toshiba devices:
‘The remote is programmed to operate a variety of
devices (ep. 88).
Non-Toshiba devices or Toshiba devices that the remote
control is not smed to operate:
Program the remote (c= p. 88).

Installing batteries
1 Pull up to open the cover.

Your TV remote control has one dedicated TV mode
and three programmable multi-brand modes: CABLE/
SAT, BD/DVD, and AUX.
Note: To operate a non-Toshiba device or a Toshiba
device that the remote contro! is not preprogrammed to
operate, you must program the remote.

Programming the remote to
operate other devices
1 Find the code for your device brand inthe remote
control device code table (ea p. 91-96).
f multiple codes are listed, try each one separately
until you find one that works.
2 Press a mode select button (CABLE/SAT, BD/DVD,
or AUX). The button blinks 3 times.
3 While holding down 62, input the digit code for
your device.

5 When programming is complete, test all necessary
keys on the TV's remote that operate your device. If
some keys are not operational, repeat the device
code setup using another code (if other codes are
listed for your device).
6 Tocontrol the TV, press TV.
7 Ifyour VCR does not respond to the codes for your
VCR brand, and has a switch labeled VCR1/VCR2,
set the switch o the other position, then reprogram
the remote contro.
Note: Every time you change the batteries, you must
reprogram the remote.Searching for a device code
Ifyou do not know the device code for a particular
device, you can view each available code for that device
mode and sample the functions to find the code that
‘operates the target device.
1 Press a mode select button on the remote.
2 While holding down a, press 8, 5, 0, 0. The mode
select button biinks twice. The remote control enters
rogram mode.
3 Point the remote at the target device Press "3", 1,
Gi, Bl, or Le]. The mode select button lights up.
‘Then press a or V to change a code.
4. ifthe device responds to the remote control:
Press BE to store the device code. The mode select
button blinks twice. The remote exits program
mode.
5 lf the device does not respond to the remote control:
Repeat this step until the device responds to the
remote.
When no code is found, exit the program mode by
the following operation:
+ Press i (current state is stored)
+Press no key for 10 seconds. (current state is not
stored)
Note: When a search cycle is completed, the remote
displays each available code again. Ino key is pressed
within 10 seconds, the remote exits programm made and
returns to the previous code.
Locking the volume keys
The remote’s volume keys (I, [2 and MUTE) are
locked to a device mode.

Example: CABLE/SAT mode
1 Press CABLE/SAT.
2 While holding down ia, press 8, 0,0, 0.
3 Press {E). The CABLE/SAT mode select button
blinks 2 times (locked).
‘The remote’s volume keys now operate the volume
of the device associated with the CABLE/SAT
mode, even when CABLE/SAT is not the current
device mode.
To unlock the remote’s volume keys:
1. While holding down 624 press 8,0,0,0.
2 Press |=. The CABLE/SAT mode select button
blinks 4 times. The CABLE/SAT mode is unlocked.
Clearing the remote’s programming
‘You can clear all programmed remote control features
not related to “Device code setup” and reset the volume
lock to the TV device mode.
While holding down Ba, press 8, 9, 0,0. The mode
select button blinks 4 times,
Resetting to the factory default
You can clear changed manufacturing features.
While holding down 623, press 8, 9,0, 1. The mode
select button blinks 4 times.
