Dear Ban Ki-Moon,

I am writing you to put emphasis on the significance of living in a globalized

world, and also to confer a problem that your nation has been dealing with for what
seems to be a really extensive time. Globalization is known as the act of spreading
different aspects or ideas throughout the world, or to other specific areas or
countries. These notions can consist of pop culture, materialism, accommodation,
technologies, businesses, philosophies, etc. We live in a world where some countries
rely on other countries in so many other ways. This is called global
interdependence. The awareness of global interdependence is often doubted
because many nations believe that sharing economic, political, and environmental
issues can be dangerous, but it truly has the power to unite a lot of nations for the
greater good. Global interdependence permits people to feel a sense of
internationality and connection with others throughout the world. Everyone has had
to adjust to different situations, and it seems that the problem easily fixed with the
help of others so that there is all types of different inputs on it. This quote tends to
prove to be the truth in todays society, challenges faced in the 21 st century are
often addressed with a group of people who have come closer together. Every
nation has expressed how they feel about the matter, and how they want to deal
with it. The global community should be strong, well connected, so that tomorrow
can be a better place.
I understand that an issue you are currently facing within your nation is
dealing with the ideas of human rights and development within the United Nations.
The United Nations is built upon the idea of the three main ideas- peace, security,
and development and human rights. It is important that all three ideas stay strongly
enforced. It was made clear that the Millennium Developmental Goals (MDGs) are
going to be completed by the end of this year, and a member states will pay extra
attention to peace and security and especially human rights. Although these
statements by the member states have been made, it will not fully mean that the
situation in the nations will be 100% addressed, there should be an outside source
to help make sure that peace will be fully recognized within all United Nations.
There are multiple ways that this can be accomplished, the people throughout the
nations have all the power to make peace happen, and its their choice whether it
should be put into place or not. The people are really the ones with the power in this
situation. Just think about it, there are 192 countries currently part of the UN, there
are so many more people than then the leaders. Dont get me wrong it is beyond
important for the UN to discuss the issues and figure out an efficient way to solve
them. Their tactics will never be effective like the ones that the people can
accurately provide. Okay, yes. You can write all the laws you want, but that doesnt
guarantee that people will change. The people are the ones who have to live with
the restrictions that you put on them, so if thats the case then they should be able
to have some say in what the restrictions are. It all goes back to the human rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights pledges that all people should work to
promote the rights that will ultimately give them their freedom. While attempting to
keep the idea of respect and freedom in mind at all times. The three ideas are held
upon, that peace follows the idea of respect, and encourages the idea of freedom of
speech. The UN can only help develop people in a positive manner where no one
gets hurt in any way, if they allow the ideas of human rights to keep being

addressed, then eventually they might be able to get someone that everyone can
understand in viewpoint that the people of the world can honestly understand and
relate to.
Thank you for taking the time to allow me to present my opinions on the
importance of globalization, as well as my opinion on the situation with the United
Nations system. I honestly hope that this has done a little bit of encouraging to
correct the problem from the root.

From,
Madeline Filoon
