Castrol Alpha
Industrial Gear Oils
Description
Two principal ranges of high quality mineral oil based gear lubricants are
available under this brand, namely the Castrol Alpha SP series and Castrol
Alpha ZN series.
Castrol Alpha SP Series
Blended with sulphur-phosphorous compounds imparting extreme pressure and
anti-wear properties, these oils exhibit good thermal stability and oxidation
resistance. They have good demulsification characteristics and low foaming
tendencies while providing good rust and corrosion protection of metal
surfaces. Castrol Alpha SP gear lubricants meet and exceed the specification
of DIN 51517 Part 3.
Castrol Alpha ZN Series
These oils comprise a range of mild E.P. additives. They are inhibited against
oxidation, corrosion and foaming and are widely used in marine and worm gear
applications where full E.P. properties are not required.
Performance
Performance of both Castrol Alpha SP and Castrol Alpha ZN gear oils are
appropriately demonstrated by internationally recognised tests including FZG,
Timken OK Load and 4-Ball I.S.L. results.
Castrol Alpha SP and Castrol Alpha ZN gear oils are fully approved by
David Brown Gear Industries Ltd.
