Just imagine a slave working in the fields all hot and exhausted.

If the civil war didnt

happen itd still be like that today. The Civil war was the bloodiest battle the United States has
been in. It was friend vs. friend and brother vs. brother. It tore families apart. So what the civil
war was about at first, how did the african americans shape the course, and what the
consequences of the war.
At first the civil war was about how the south secede from the north. The north wanted to
stop the rebelling so they went to a few battles and thought they would win. Wrong! The south
came in the underdog and whooped the north. There was many battles between the south and
north. The south knew that they didnt have to win each battle but that they could have a draw.
The South wanted slavery to stay the same and not have the north get rid of it. But in reality the
north didnt want to end slavery but stop it from spreading from state to state. Eight months
ago the african race in this city were literally hunted down like wild beasts. Doc F. This means
that white southern men would hunt down slaves and capture them and take them back to the
south to get beat and eventually killed. The south was a very bad place.
African americans shaped the course of the civil war by their actions. They ended up to
be what it was about. But Lincoln didnt want to say that because it would make the border
states become south and be able to secede. In Doc E, i analyzed that blacks were never taught to
learn. Although Charlotte Forten taught in the north, when she went to the south she learned that
the blacks really wanted to learn, they needed to learn to be better, to help this great nation grow
into a great land. Many White southern men had affair with black woman slaves. The slaves
would get pregnant and then the southern men would take the children and not let the slaves get
them. In Doc I, it explains that Rebecca Parsons a freedwoman had four children with him but
now T.A. parsons was going to keep the children and that Rebecca couldnt have her children.

The Africans shaped the war with what they wanted. And they wanted freedom, they wanted
what the white men had. They wanted to be free, to make there own choices, to live the
american dream.
The Civil war had many consequences. The biggest one was what to do with the blacks in
the south. In Doc D, IT explains that the the government owes to all men employed in its armies,
without regard to the distinction of color, the full protection of the laws of war. Doc G, shows
that white people did want help to the blacks, they defended them because they knew that they
were people too. As in Doc H, that all men are equal and they all deserve the same treatment
from all. The United states was in despair after the war.
The civil war was the bloodiest battle the United States has ever been in. It showed that
one thing could divide a country. That When angry men with money and power could turn his
brother on him. The south wanted what the north didnt and that was slavery. So what the civil
war was about at first, how did the african americans shape the course, and what the
consequences of the war.
