Description: Curriculum Night

Brief Summary: My teaching partner and I planned and worked on preparing a power point to
show parents during Curriculum Night. We presented the power point to two different groups of
parents explaining our schedule, class assignments, student expectations, pick-ups and drop-offs,
homework etc. We meet with about 30 parents.

Brief Summary: I made several attempts to start a UIL Program at South Marshall. I did
research on the program. Then, I contacted David Trussell, the assistant director of A+
Academics for Elementary and Middle Schools. I filled out the necessary registration papers. I
made materials for our campus and conducted a meeting with interested teachers. Unfortunately
,due to the fact that many teachers were already committed to the ACE Program, I was not able
to get it going. We will try again next year.

Description: Fire Drill

Brief Summary: Today, I was in charge of conducting the fire drill for the month. I pushed the
button on the panel in the safety box located in the schools main office. When the students were
outside, I called all grades and special classes to make sure that all students were accounted for.

Once I got the clear from everyone, I gave a clear for students and teachers to return to class.
We debriefed and reviewed expectations for behavior during a drill.

Brief Summary: I sat in on three RTI meetings. These meetings are done by grade level. The
meetings consisted of teachers, the principal, the intervention teacher, and the counselor.
Looking at data that teachers had on each student, the committee decided whether the students
should continue, be reassigned, or dismissed from a tier.

Brief Summary: I helped set up and work the hamburger supper at my school. I sat at the

Brief Summary: I was put in charge of the October faculty meeting. This required preparation
because our monthly meetings are now focused
more on sharing with our co-workers a PLC. This past summer fourth grade teachers attended a
writing training. This was an all day training, designed
to promote better writers among our students. I went through the design with the teachers so that
they could see how we are now doing
writing and I showed them how they can implement it into their curriculum. This would better
prepare the students for when they reached us. I used a powerpoint
and had to make the materials I used. I actually took the teachers through a number of the
activities.

instruction. The teachers and the students were working hard. In one particular classroom, the
students were learning about forms of energy. They used thinking maps to list the forms of
energy and their sources. This seemed to help their thinking process.

accused of bullying another student. The assistant principal questioned the students and

determined that they were guilty of the accusation. She assigned them to ISS for a day and made
calls to their parents.

Brief Summary: - My school had Literacy Night on October 27, 2014 from 6:00 8:00. We

Brief Summary: I was appointed to attend a Task Force Meeting concerning the after school
program known as ACE. School personnel along with parents, and community leaders discussed
the effectiveness of the program. The program is up for renewal and this was also discussed.
Most of the people in attendance thought it was doing a good job and that MISD should reapply
for the grant to continue it.

for the month of October. This was not a I gotcha. The principal rewarded the ones who had
signed in all month on time and reminded the ones who had not of procedure.

Brief Summary: As a member of the Black history Committee, I participated in the first
meeting of this school year for the upcoming Black History celebration in February of 2015. We
decided we would have a wax museum to depict famous African Americans. We will also have
the traditional Soul Food dinner with some expansions.
