Century College TRIO Upward Bound Program Advisor
June 2013-Present
Advise and establish rapport with a group of traditionally underrepresented students at Saint Paul
Harding High School.
Serve as the creator and advisor of the LEAD UB Team, the programs first student leadership
initiative.
Facilitate individual academic goal setting, decision making, and culturally appropriate advising.
Guide student in preparing for the ACT exam in their junior year and the college admission and
financial aid process in their senior year.
Support overall program efforts through writing and developing senior year program curriculum,
planning and implementing activities during the annual Summer Program, teaching summer bridge
curriculum to program graduates, creating the quarterly newsletter, and scheduling campus visits and
special events.

scholarship funds.

Recognized and fought against the social systems and beliefs that influenced my cohort of racially and
