Pipeline Pressure Isolations

TDW Offshore provides customised tools and services for isolation and plugging of pipelines,
ranging from friction pigs to the SmartPlug system.
The SmartPlug tool is a remote-controlled, tetherless and highly piggable high pressure isolation tool.
It is designed to isolate a section of pipeline while at operating pressure. This enables pipeline repair
without reducing pipeline pressure or bleeding down the entire pipeline system.
The primary advantage of using the SmartPlug system as a method of pressure isolation is the ability
to minimise production down time. The following advantages have resulted in savings for our customers:
Production continued during pipeline repairs
The time and cost of de-commissioning (bleeding down) and re-commissioning
(refilling and re-pressurising) pipelines are eliminated
It reduces the need to dispose of hydrates, chemicals and contaminated water
No emissions of gas or hydrocarbon vapours to the atmosphere

The SmartPlug system has an onboard SmartTrack system for tracking

and accurate positioning.
Typical operations where TDW Offshore technology is highly advantageous:
Pipeline valve replacement or repair
Riser replacement or repair
Pressure testing and leak detection of risers and repaired pipelines
Mid-line pipeline repair and tie-in
Platform abandonment and bypass

TDW Offshore currently maintains a stock of

SmartPlug tools for all pipeline diameters
between 10 and 42. Other sizes are available
upon request.

Pipeline Pigging
TDW Offshore develops and fabricates pigs for every purpose and specialises in the development
of multi-diameter pigs.
Based on TDW Offshores ability to engineer, fabricate and test pipeline pigs, we excel in solving multiple
pigging challenges for our customers. By focusing on continual innovation in product development,
TDW Offshore consistently increases pipeline pig performance and capacity.
We develop tailor-made pigging equipment based on our customers needs. TDW Offshore has a line
of products ranging from receivers, launchers and pig tracking products to pig handling equipment.
The following advantages have resulted in savings for our customers:
The ability to monitor pipeline pressure during low-pressure isolation projects.
Reduced vessel time, ROV time and diving time through the ability to remotely track and locate
pigs at a specific location in a pipeline.
Increased pipeline flow rates by removing wax and build-up in pipelines (some that were thought
to be un-piggable).
Minimised risk and elimination of the cost of recovering stuck pigs by testing the pig before operation.

Our proprietary SmartTrack system revolutionises pig tracking by using

two-way, through-wall, electromagnetic communication between the
transponder and receiver. The system is highly accurate and reliable,
able to identify individual pigs, and it allows remote activation/deactivation,
making isotopes obsolete.

TDW Offshore multi-diameter pigs are available to

handle a 60% change in pipeline diameter.

TDW Offshore World Map

Our core business is to provide our customers
with products and services they need for pipeline
maintenance and construction. The company conducts
business with all oil and gas producing countries and
territories around the globe and has established a new
definition for world-class engineering capability.
The majority of the work force consists of highly skilled
engineers providing Engineered Pipeline Products fit for
purpose. This has resulted in several innovative
products and services, including the SmartPlug tool
which has become the worlds leading pipeline pressure
isolation technology.

Pipeline Flood Prevention

The TDW Offshore SmartPlug technology can be used for flood prevention to prevent pipelines
or risers from flooding when they are laid or installed.
Pipelay: The TDW Offshore SmartLay system is designed to increase safety in situations where
the lay vessel may no longer be in control of the pipe, or in the event of a wet buckle. The SmartLay
system is intended to protect the seabed portion of a pipeline under construction from accidental
flooding, it can be configured to also protect the riser portion. Prevention of pipeline flooding enables
quick recovery from a buckled pipe situation.
The SmartLay system is based on the SmartPlug pipeline isolation system, both are fully DnV
certified. SmartLay activation is primarily automatic, onboard pressure, tension and water mist sensors
trigger the system in just seconds. Standard SmartPlug communications are also fitted, thus enabling
tetherless through-wall remote controlled setting and unsetting. TDW Offshore has tools available in
every pipeline size from 10 to 42.
Riser Handling: Setting a SmartPlug system at the end of a dry pipeline before laying it down
on the sea floor saves days of using a pipelay vessel. It also allows dry tie-ins, using less expensive vessels to pick up the pipeline from the sea floor at a later date.
Using a SmartPlug system during the handover of the pipeline from the lay
vessel to the platform prevents flooding, should a wet buckle occur.
The SmartPlug tool can also be used for flood prevention during lay down,
lifting, or while placing the riser in the porch.

The SmartLay system automatically sets

upon detection of water or water mist.

Pipeline Construction
TDW Offshore fabricates a range of pipeline construction tools, including handling, recovery,
and hang-off clamps.
The TDW Offshore SmartLift PRT (Pipeline Recovery Tool) enables the end of a pipeline to safely
be recovered to the surface or laid on the sea floor. These tools can be both diver-operated and
ROV-operated. After recovery, the TDW Offshore Hang-Off Clamp holds the pipeline end securely while
modifications are performed.
These tools reduce the use of vessel, ROV and diving time. Applications for TDW Offshores range
of pipeline construction tools include the following:

Subsea pipelines can be isolated and pressure tested without the installation of a blind flange
or welded end cap
Remote-operated dewatering of a pipeline to facilitate pick-up
Remote-controlled flooding of subsea pipelines
Quick release and retrieval of pipelines during or after pipelay
Pig launching and receiving

TDW Offshores PRT are available for pipeline hydrotest, pipeline dewatering, pig launch and receiving.

Pipeline Repair
TDW Offshore provides quick delivery of complete pipeline, riser and caisson repair solutions.
Our products are typically applied when unusual or extreme situations prevent standard repairs
from being performed.
TDW Offshore maintains a staff of experienced engineers who excel in the custom design and fabrication
of a wide range of repair clamps. Our pipeline repair clamps can be structural or non-structural and are
designed so they can be installed both by a diver and ROV.
The following advantages have resulted in savings for our customers:
Reduced vessel time, ROV time, and diving time
Reduces the need to excavate around the pipeline for clamp installation
Very quick installation
Short lead times required to mobilise
Prevention of pipeline leaks in environmentally sensitive areas by reinforcing pipelines and platform risers
Ability to fabricate clamps to fit pipeline sizes/pressure ratings that are not available through joint
industry programmes.
TDW Offshore designs and manufactures a large variety of hot tap clamps capable of launching plugs
and pigs into pipelines that have no pig launchers.

TDW Offshores clamps use running tools to reduce

ROV task complexity and the need for extensive
access around the pipeline.

SmartPlug System
The TDW Offshore Services SmartPlug tool is designed
to isolate a section of pipeline while it is at operating pressure.
This enables pipeline repair without reducing pipeline pressure
or bleeding down the entire pipeline system.

Advantages
The primary advantage of using the SmartPlug tool as a method of pipeline isolation is the ability to
minimise production down time. The following advantages have resulted in savings for our customers:

No flaring of gas or displacement of pipeline contents

Production continued during pipeline repairs
No emissions of gas or hydrocarbon vapours to the atmosphere
No danger of accidentally flooding offshore pipelines during construction
No hole or future leak path is left at the isolation location

SmartPlug System Features

Highly Piggable The SmartPlug is bi-directionally piggable through flexible pipelines. It can isolate any
pipeline medium, including gas, crude oil, distillates, treated or untreated water, glycol, diesel, etc. The SmartPlug
system is module-based and can be configured for project needs.
Double Block - The standard SmartPlug system tool consists of two independent plug modules, each of
which is activated by the onboard micro-hydraulic activation system. Each module is independently capable of
isolating the full pipeline pressure, thus providing double-block isolation.

Safe, Fast & Economical

The SmartPlug tool enables the completion of pipeline
maintenance with unprecedented safety, speed, time, and cost
savings. TDW Offshore Services currently maintains SmartPlug
tools for all pipeline diameters between 10 and 42.
Other sizes are available on request.

Safety Features
The SmartPlug system is designed to be self-locked in the set position, as long as there is delta pressure
across the tool. This means that the higher the pressure, the harder the plug seals, regardless of the status of
the communication system. The SmartPlug system also includes a redundant unsetting systems, so that if all
communication fails, the plug can still be unset and recovered. The SmartPlug tool is designed to achieve
no leakage.
SmartPlug Operation, Tracking and Communication
The SmartPlug tool is activated/de-activated, tracked and monitored by a topside laptop computer through
the use of TDW Offshores proprietary control and communication system. The laptop communicates with the
SmartPlug system by sending signals to an ELF antenna placed in the vicinity of
the isolation location. The ELF antenna provides real time two-way, through-wall data
communication with the system. This allows the operator to send commands and to
receive confirmation of plug conditions and pipeline pressures.
The SmartPlug tool has an onboard SmartTrack system for tracking and
accurate positioning.

Project Applications
Pipeline Valve Replacements or Repairs
Use of the SmartPlug tool allows the replacement of topside valves without reducing pipeline pressure or affecting
the production of downstream platforms.
Riser Replacement or Repairs (including flexible risers)
The SmartPlug tool can isolate the riser from the rest of the pipeline and allow pipelines with multiple downstream
platforms to remain in production while risers are replaced or repaired.
Pressure Testing and Leak Detection of Risers or Repaired Pipelines
The use of a three-plug module SmartPlug train, with one-plug module in the reverse direction to isolate the
test pressure, enables the operator to pressure test the repaired sections of the pipeline or riser as soon as the
construction is completed.
Midline Pipeline Repair and Tie-Ins
The use of two SmartPlug tools in a train allows the isolation of a specific section of a pipeline for repairs,
replacement or tie-ins. Pipeline intervention can be completed without the displacement of pipeline content
and without interrupting production in other pipelines connected to the transport system.

Dry Tie-Ins of Risers or Pipelines

The SmartPlug tool can be set at the end of a dry pipeline before laying it down on the sea floor. This saves days
of pipelay vessel use, and allows dry tie-ins using less expensive vessels to pick up the pipeline from the sea floor at
a later date.
The SmartPlug system can be used as a method of pipeline flood prevention during the handover of the
pipeline from the lay vessel to the platform, should a wet buckle occur. The SmartPlug system can also be used
for flood prevention during lay down, lifting, or while placing the riser in the porch.
Platform Abandonment and Bypass
The SmartPlug system can be used to plug both import and export lines of a platform so that the lines can
be cut and tied together for a subsea bypass, or connected to other lines for rerouting. The cut pipelines can also
be capped or blinded for future construction or abandonment.
The SmartPlug system enables the work to be completed without shutting down other platforms connected
to the pipeline system. The use of the SmartPlug system eliminates the need to find and operate subsea valves
for isolation.

Jumper Replacement
The SmartPlug tool can be pigged from the FPSO or platform to isolate the jumper. This allows jumper
replacement without wetting the system and without replacing the oil or gas, thus preventing costly and timeconsuming commissioning operations.
Flex Joint Isolation for Repair
SmartPlug tools are used to prevent the flooding of SCRs while lifting the pipeline to the surface or during
underwater construction. The SmartPlug system allows production to continue downstream if the SCR is part
of a wider transportation system.
Tie-In of Deep-Water Flow Lines and Pipelines
Deep-water flow lines and pipelines often have a preinstalled tee to allow for tie-in of future wells or pipelines.
One SmartPlug tool on each side of the tee allows quick and safe performance of such tie-ins. The SmartPlug
system allows the tie-in to be performed without shutting down the flow line/pipeline, without flooding, and
without environmental impact or clean-up.
Flood Prevention during Deepwater Pipelay
The SmartLay system is towed inside the pipeline above the sag bend to protect the lay barge in the event of
a wet buckle. The SmartLay system can also be installed below the sag bend to protect the laid pipeline from
flooding.
The SmartLay system is fitted with sensors to detect the ingress of water, or pressure build-up inside the pipeline.
When such conditions are detected, the SmartLay plug activates and isolates the pipeline. The SmartLay system
can be activated and deactivated with an ROV fitted by TDW Offshores electromagnetic communication system.

Features
The SmartLift PRT system can be designed so that a single tool can be used to pick up and recover multiple pipeline
diameters. The SmartLift PRT is also equipped with a fail-safe pipeline gripping system that self-locks mechanically
after setting the tool. This PRT can be activated by divers or remotely by ROV. Each SmartLift PRT is approved and
certified by Det Norske Veritas (DnV).

Applications for the Internal SmartLift system

Pipeline Hydrotest
The SmartLift system can be designed to include sealing elements that enable the tool to be used for pipeline
hydrotesting and flushing. This eliminates the need to dewater or retrieve the pipeline to the surface in order to
verify pipeline integrity. The sealing function provides a safe alternative to temporary lay-down heads, pig traps,
or test blinds. Hydrotest pressures up to 350 bar/5000 psi have been retained using SmartLift tools.
Emergency Pipeline Abandonment
The SmartLift system can be used as a contingency method of quickly disconnecting pipelines from pipelay
vessels and laying them on the sea floor. This may be necessary in bad weather or if construction problems occur.
The PRT can be equipped with a flood prevention system that will keep the pipeline dry and enable the pipeline
to be easily retrieved from the sea floor.

Temporary Pig Launchers/Receivers

The SmartLift system can include a pig-launching
system for launching and receiving pigs without adding
a dedicated pig trap, flange, or similar connection
to the pipeline.

Pig Launcher with pre-installed pig
The

The SmartLift system is beneficial when it is necessary to

dewater parts, or the entire pipeline, in order to reduce
its weight and allow the laybarge to retrieve it.
Compressed air can be pumped through the SmartLift
system to push a dewatering pig through the line, thus saving
the expense and time of running the pig from shore.
Alternatively, the SmartLift system may be used
as a pig receiver by purging water through the PRT as
the pig is pushed from the other end with air pressure.

The Pig is launched

16 SmartLift PRT

16 to 20 Multi-Diameter SmartLift PRT

The SmartLift PRT can be used to install a SmartPlug tool in order to pressure-isolate a section of pipeline
before lifting it to the surface. By using the SmartLift PRT in combination with the SmartPlug tool, the isolated
section of pipeline will remain dry once the PRT is removed from the end of the pipe at the surface.
Various combinations of the applications above can be designed into a SmartLift system to meet multiple tool
function requirements.
External SmartLift system
TDW Offshore provides external SmartLift systems that attach the PRT to the outside of the pipeline.
This may be preferable when the combination of pipe size and load makes an internal SmartLift system
unsuitable. The external SmartLift PRT is ideal for damaged pipeline ends with internal obstructions,
pipe bundles, or pipe-in-pipe configurations.
Eye Lifting (Stab-over)
TDW Offshore offers external eye lifting tools that operate on the principle that holes are drilled through the pipe
wall on opposite sides of the pipe. This is performed by a ROV or diver-operated hole-saw. A lifting bolt is then
inserted through the holes and the pipe is recovered to surface by means of a lifting clamp.
These tools are typically used under project conditions where the other SmartLift systems are unsuitable.

for a customers gas pipeline.

Repair Clamps
We maintain an engineering staff that excels in the custom design and fabrication of a wide range of repair
clamps. TDW Offshores clamps can be installed by divers or ROVs, and by our technicians for topside applications.
We also specialize in clamps for all diameter pipelines or clamps that require zero leak tolerance due to hazardous
pipeline contents. TDW Offshore supplies these clamps with extremely short lead times.
Pipeline Leakage Repair Clamps
TDW Offshores pipeline repair clamps incorporate two clamp halves that are fitted with seals. These halves
are then closed around the leaking pipeline or the defect area to stop or prevent it from leaking.
Tensioned bolts run through the clamp halves binding the two half-pieces securely together. Longitudinal seals
are then energized to stop external leakage between the two halves. TDW Offshores repair clamps ensure a high
level of sealing integrity by using multiple sealing methods.
If the pipeline has structural damage we will integrate structural modules within the system design.
ROV-Installed
Short clamp installation times are achieved with less excavation. TDW Offshores clamps use running tools
to reduce ROV task complexity and the need for extensive access around the pipeline.
All functions of our tools are automated by making hot stab connections with API standard stabs. Automated
running tools reduce vessel time required to install the clamp and reduce pipeline production downtime.
Diver-Installed
TDW Offshore designs and manufactures clamps for diver-assisted projects. Like the diver-less clamps,
these clamps are designed for rapid manufacture and delivery.

A ROV-operated TDW Offshore leak/structural

repair clamp is closed around a pipeline
that is leaking at 2300 PSI.

Grout or epoxy is injected into a leak repair clamp.

A ROV-operated running tool for a TDW Offshore clamp is removed from

the leak/structural repair clamp and brought to the surface for reuse.

TDW Offshore can engineer and manufacture clamps to meet a variety of project conditions
in order to isolate all elements of a pipeline system, including:

Flanges
Mainline
Branch connections

Pipeline, Riser, and Caisson Structural Repair Clamps

TDW Offshore manufactures pipeline, caisson, platform jacket and riser structural repair clamps. These are
designed to restore the structural integrity of the unit in locations that are corroded or damaged. Clamps can
also be designed with a pressure-retaining capacity in addition to structural improvement. The most common
use of structural clamps on risers is as life extension by providing additional splash zone protection.
All TDW Offshore clamps are designed to be injected with grout or epoxy if desired. Injecting grout between
the riser/pipeline and the clamp maximizes sealing and structural strength and provides a permanent repair
for the operator.

Pipeline Pigs
TDW Offshore Services has the unique ability to engineer, manufacture,
and test pipeline pigs that solve multiple pipeline pigging challenges.
By focusing on continual innovation in product development, TDW
Offshore consistently increases pipeline pig performance and capacity.

TDW Offshore specializes in multi-diameter, multi-function pigs, and we are the leading designer and manufacturer
of such pigs.

Advantages
TDW Offshores pipeline pigs are often piggability-tested before installation to ensure the
intended results. The following advantages are some of the benefits to our customers:

Allows the operator flexibility in new pipeline construction, including pigging systems for reduced bores,

multi-diameter steps, varying valve bores and other non-full-bore line equipment.

Increased pipeline flow rates by removing wax and build-up in pipelines

(some that were thought to be unpiggable)

Dependable low pressure pipeline isolation with simple (non-intelligent) systems

The ability to monitor pipeline pressure during low-pressure isolation projects

Minimized risk, and elimination of the cost of recovering stuck pigs by testing the pig before

putting it into the pipeline

Reduced vessel, ROV and dive cost by providing the ability to track and locate pigs at a specific

location in a pipelin

Testing pigs using a transparent pipe section.

Engineered simulation of pigging in a check valve.

TDW Offshore employs a dedicated pig development team, and maintains a specialized workshop facility
to develop and test customized high performance pigs.
Many pigging requirements cannot be addressed by standard off the shelf pigs. Typical projects for
TDW Offshore include multiple challenges, including the following:

Multiple pipeline diameters

Restricted valve and pipeline equipment boring

High or low pipeline operating temperatures

Limitations in, or lack of, pipeline pig launching/receiving facilities

The need to transverse long wye pieces or unusual T-pieces

Major obstructions in the pipeline system caused by pipeline damage

Small radius pipeline bends

Stringent pig functionality requirements

Long distance pigging

Combinations of the above

Pipeline Pigging Applications

Batching, Separation and Dewatering
Batching and separation pigs can be used for dewatering, product displacement, product filling of pipelines and
batching of pipeline product. TDW Offshore has in-depth experience in designing and manufacturing batching
and separation pigs with high seal integrity.
Pipeline Cleaning and Wax Removal
Our multi-diameter pigs can be fitted with brushes, scraper blades, magnets, wax removal disks and/or pigging
disks suited for cleaning.
These pigs have numerous applications, for instance:

Debris removal, suitable for wet or dry pigging in the pipeline commissioning phase

Cleaning, wax removal and fluid removal to restore maximum pipeline performance

Cleaning during decommissioning of pipelines, often customized for use with chemicals and gels
Multi-Diameter Pipelines
TDW Offshore specializes in providing pipeline pigs that are designed to pass through multiple pipeline diameters.
In some cases these changes have been as severe as going from 10in to 16in in pipelines.
Subsea Wyes
Subsea wye pieces, when installed in dual-diameter lines, are difficult to pig due to the potential loss of
driving force. TDW Offshore has developed specialized pigs that are capable of pigging through wyes in
multi-diameter lines while performing multiple functions based on project requirements.

A TDW Offshore-designed test rig at customer premises.

Multi diameter pigs, 42-44 and 8-10.

J-Tube Pigs
In most cases J-tube pigs must be pulled through the J-tube instead of being pigged. TDW Offshore designs
J-tube pigs that are specifically constructed to handle the multiple impact forces associated with this type of
pigging application.
Pipeline Geometry Pigs
The SmartGauge system allows the gauging status of the pipeline to be communicated through the pipeline
wall. This reduces the scope of subsea intervention during pipeline commissioning. The pig receiver and gauge
pig no longer need to be recovered before hydrotest operations.
High Friction Pigs for Low Pressure Isolations
High friction pigs are designed to isolate pipelines at low differential pressures. These pigs are equipped with
TDW Offshores electromagnetic communication system to assist positioning and monitoring of pressures during
the isolation.
Pig Tracking
The SmartTrack system is TDW Offshores intelligent pipeline pig tracking system, available for all of our pigs.
This system allows pigs to be tracked onshore and offshore in both shallow and deep water. Each pig can be tracked
using its own unique ID, using our proprietary electromagnetic communication system.

SmartTrack System
The SmartTrack system revolutionizes pig tracking by utilizing
two-way (bi-directional), through-wall, electromagnetic communication
between the transponder and receiver. Its accuracy and reliability,
combined with its ability to remotely activate and deactivate the
transponder make it the most flexible system on the market.

Advantages

Each pig is given a unique ID, so that the location of each pig in a multiple pig train can be identified
Eliminates the need to use radioactive isotopes for offshore pig tracking and locating
The system tracks pigs subsea, topside, and in pipelines buried onshore
High positioning accuracy
Monitors multiple pig tracking locations without the need to move subsea tracking systems or vessels
Wireless communication between the subsea receiver and the platform or vessels
Signal strength, transponder speed, and ID can be changed while the transponder is in the pipeline
Reduces vessel, ROV and dive time
The SmartTrack system can be put into dormant mode while inside the pipeline to extend
the transponder battery lifetime
Detects and identifies pigs at a distance of up to 10 meters (30 ft) from the receiver

The SmartTrack transponders are available for pig body sizes from 6 and above.
They are designed for pipeline pressures up to 300 bar (4350 PSI).

SmartTrack Transponders
The TDW Offshores SmartTrack transponders have two different operating modes (active and dormant).
In active mode the transponder sends an electromagnetic signal that can be tracked. In dormant mode it saves
batteries by only listening for commands from an outside transceiver.
Pigs with transponders can be loaded into launchers in dormant mode and activated at a later date.
If an operation is interrupted or delayed, the transponders can be put into dormant mode until needed.
The output power of the SmartTrack transponder is adjustable at any time to optimize battery lifetime, pigging
speed, burial depths and positioning accuracy. The same transponder can be adjusted for long life for thin walled
lines or high power for deeply buried and heavy wall pipelines.
The SmartTrack transponder sends out a unique identification code to enable the simultaneous tracking
and locating of multiple pigs.
SmartTrack Remote Transceiver
The SmartTrack remote transceiver is used in combination with the PC to locate, track and identify pigs inside
pipelines both topside and onshore. Using the PC the topside transceiver can activate, deactivate or adjust any
operational parameters of the SmartTrack remote transceiver.
The SmartTrack transceiver can be placed on, or strapped to the pipeline, mounted on an ROV or held in
an ROV arm. Communication takes place through cable or ROV umbilical.
SmartTrack Subsea Communications Unit
The SmartTrack subsea communications unit is used in offshore applications where it is logistically impossible to
use the cabled remote transceiver. The primary application for this system is in wireless offshore pig tracking projects
that otherwise require the vessel to be moved or vessels to be added.
The subsea communications unit uses a bi-directional acoustic modem that is fixed to the antenna housing.
A second acoustic modem is connected to a standard laptop at the surface.

The SmartTrack remote transceiver.

The typical communication range for the subsea communication unit

is 2 km (1.2 M/6560 ft)

The diver-held receiver functions at water depths up to 300 meters (980 ft).

SmartTrack Diver-Held Receiver

The diver-held receiver enables the diver to locate, track and identify pigs. The diver-held receiver is a receiver only
and cannot be used to transmit signals to the transponder. Although the diver-held receiver is primarily designed for
subsea use, it can also be used topside or on land.
It has a high intensity LED display that shows the SmartTrack transponder ID code, transponder signal strength,
and the number of pigs/transponders that have passed and been identified. The system can be used in combination
with an ROV camera.
SmartTrack Topside Transceiver
The SmartTrack topside transceiver is used in combination with the SmartTrack PDA to locate, track and identify
pigs inside pipelines both topside and onshore. Using the PDA, the topside transceiver can activate, deactivate or
adjust any operational parameters of the SmartTrack transponder.
The SmartTrack topside transceiver communicates wirelessly with the SmartTrack PDA using Bluetooth technology.
The light weight and small size of the topside transceiver make it perfect for applications where you need to move freely,
and it comes with a shoulder strap to make it easy to carry.
SmartTrack PDA
TDW Offshore offers an industrial grade EEx Rated PDA preloaded with our SmartTrack software.
The SmartTrack PDA is used for monitoring pig ID and pig location. All SmartTrack transponder functions
such as ID code, power output, on/off etc., can be set and modified through the use of the PDA in combination
with the topside transceiver.
All received data is logged and saved for later analysis or downloading to another system through Bluetooth
communication or by cable. The data can be interpreted by playing back the log file in the SmartTrack
software on the PDA or on a PC.

The topside transceiver only weighs 2,7 kg (6 lb). It communicates

via Bluetooth to the PDA at a distance up to 10 m (30 ft).
