Math domain
The way the math major practices its ideas about literacy are striking to me. One of the
main reasons for that is because they use symbols and numbers, which many other departments
and domains rarely include, many of these include the English and historic domains. Like how I
stated before those other domains use literature and reading while the math department rarely
included those types of works. The way the Math major utilizes its types of literature are very
different and has its own unique style. The documents and articles that was used to analyzed the
math major included first person interviewing and observations. My articles included the Major
and Minor Graduation Notebook, Undergraduate Pamphlet, Why to Major in Math Packet, Math
1050 Book, my interview, and an observation.
Introduction
They use numbers and formulas to regulate the text they write. Depending on the solution
or data your text will surround that idea and give an explanation why they got that answer. They
utilize the text to give an in depth idea about their work and how they did it. Much of the
community get together and discuss the literature and ask why these formulas and numbers do
what they do in the equation or literature. Numbers and formulas are used to give the reader an
idea of what they are learning and why it works out with the problem you are given. They write
these text for people interested in the field since a lot of people do not enjoy math those who read
the work have an understanding for what they are talking about.

Most works about math are accessible to the public they give an explanation about the
basics forms of math. More advance work is for those who have graduated or have a better
understanding and passion about math. The reader is someone who want to know more about the
subject math itself than any other subject and why they should join it. They get help and advice
to places that give a general understanding about this topic. The needs for the reader is to see
what the math department is all about and what they do. It gives people why they should
consider joining this field of study and why it is so interesting from my point of view. The points
from this are key so the reader does not lose track of what I am taking about.
Articles
I analyzed this the math majors and minors documents to gain an understanding on what
the department does to give you guidance in your career in math. The minor and major
documents talks what you have to do in your major and I analyzed this document and answered
the questions I gave myself. It is written for those who want to graduate from the Math
department. It also tells people what they can major and minor. They go into more details about
classes and extracurricular activities. It is written for those who have the idea of graduating from
the math department. It gives them step by step ideas for classes and studies. It also goes into
class ideas and ways in helping the student complete their work the fastest. It can be included
into works about just one specific major where in goes into more depth and ideas. Also where
you can find extracurricular activities and internships you can see what other classes you have to
take to get into those kinds of activities.
With the minors and majors document you gain better understanding for the math
domain. The text is gives the community more people to join. The more people that join the
faster the information about gets out to the public. It gives an idea what the math department is

all about. Also brings together those with the same idea and work mindset. Its limit is the major
itself. Nothing more than the math department and the types of emphasis. It doesnt tell you what
you have to take in extra just the math classes. The practice of what is in this book is the idea of
graduation and the math department in general. It is more dominate in the sense of math than
anything else. It just gives a list of classes and the difficulties of each one. This article gives a lot
of ideas about what you can take and guides you along the way. The goal for this is for the
person reading the book to graduate and succeed in the math department. It also want that person
to partake in internships and other extracurricular activities. They want the reader to partake in
events that help them in math. Yes if the math department changes in the real world the college
has to change what you have to take. Also when you update classes they change where they have
to be emphasized. Job opportunities change as well so they have to focus on what seems to fit in
that criteria. When you learn from different departments it adds more classes that are involved
with your field. Also finance and economics are a major factor now to the math department. A
lot of electives involves those subjects and many have minored in that field
This pamphlet shows the basics of the math department and what you need to do to gain
an idea of the department. The under graduate pamphlet helps people understand what they need
to do as an undergraduate in math. It gives an idea on what you have to do as an undergraduate
to get help with math. It also tells you where to go to get tutored by many of those who have
graduated in that course you are studying. It tells you where you need to go to get information
about the math department as well. It is written for those who do not have enough knowledge on
the math department itself. Also those looking for help in that field of study. It also has contact
information for those looking for extra personal help. It gives someone the general idea of what
math does for those who try it out. You can write it as guide book leading to what other majors

that are close to it so just a basic note book. Flyers as well since it gives out information and
what to do with the math department.
The math department contributes from this pamphlet because they people will become
aware what they have to do to make it to the math department. It gives them a way to find the
main math building for tutoring, hoping they get influenced by the math they do so they join. It
only covers the basics on what you have to do in math. It gives you the idea where you have to
go to get more information. What most is visible about this text is the idea that math is great and
it gives opportunities to those seeking it. Tutoring is also big it tells you where you have to go
and learn why you have to do it. Getting extra help from advisors is also dominant in this work
because they want more people to join this department. The goals for this is to let people know
where they have to go to get help with math. It also wants people to join this department or at
least consider doing it. It also they want what best for the reader to do their best in math. Yes
when the university changes ideas about math it changes the ideas of the department. With more
people joining the department they change what seems accurate for those who have an interest in
math. Bringing in the ideas of outside sources gives it better details and help. It is influences by
scholarship ideas because it discusses it. With more people applying they would give it to those
who try so they learn from people changing.
Why major in math packet gives a detail report on why and what you should do after you
graduate. It is written for those who need a reason to be in the math department and why its
great to be in it. With this it gives you advice and where you need to go when you complete your
education. Also it teaches you how to work with your degree and why it can help you get a job. It
is written to fit those still debating on what they should do with their major. It is highly helpful
and informative because they help those wanting to join the math major. It is written carefully

and creatively because they want to look good giving advice to people. It can be included in
newspapers and story headlines since it gives you advice and stories about those who have
graduated from that field. Also in job findings because it give people a place to find a job.
It gives those a reason why to join the department and why it is so helpful. More people
would join the math department because this give and in depth idea on why this is so helpful.
People join because they see how successful people have become in this department. The
practice of quotes and advice is emphasized a lot because you see why it is so helpful to be in
this major. It also gives depth on the jobs the majors have gotten in the past. It gives you a job
emphasis as well because it helps those looking for what they want to do.
The goals of this document is for you to see why its great to be in the math department. Also
helps you find what math job you can get in the future. It also tells you what you should do in
school to get a better education. It changes with people graduating more and having more
experience. With changing jobs and more people getting into new jobs it changes to fit those
peoples ideas. The companies also change with those who need experience so they change the
idea about that as well. Its changed with the fact that people get different jobs with their degree.
Also getting other outside experience getting jobs changes this as well. Working in different
fields of studies help change this topic as well.
The book is written to teach people. It gives them experience in the study as well. It
guides you so you can pass the class with no problem Teaching you is its main purpose. And
why you should pass this class. It is written for those who need to pass the class and advance to a
more challenging math class as well. It is written for those who need a new understanding of this
topic. They teach those who have no idea to get more work done. It would change if someone
turned it into their own notes of study. With those notes a journal becomes more helpful and

gives someone a general idea on what they have to do to pass the class. It brings people into this
event and why they should do well in this class. If they see it is easy and fun they might consider
a degree in this field. It gives people a better understanding of math. It limits itself with the type
of math that is given. The class only teaches a broad section of math that you must learn to
graduate. The practice gives are the numbers and the formulas that stand out. It also changes with
the different kinds of graphs that are given with words are not even added. It gives a dominate
sense that math and numbers are a big influence on this book. The goals for this book is for you
pass this class and with a high grade. When you pass with a high enough grade you will move on
to a higher type of math. It wants to inbred the math in your head so will always do well in this
subject. It has changed for those who want to learn at an easier pace or an easier way. With a
changing topic it wants to change so that it can make someone pass a class with no difficulty at
all. It changes with other classes that are contributed with it. Classes like calculus and 1010
helped it change without it changing itself.
Interview
I interviewed my academic advisor Angie Gardiner. We went into depth on the math
department. She would go on to say all these things in my interview with her. Math is important
because it underlies all the sciences. It is the basic function between other majors like physics
and engineering. The goals for the math department she said is that they want people to get a
basic understanding on how to handle there finances in the real world. There are class that are
specifically made just for helping students in the real world. They help those who want to
graduate in the math department get and understanding on two very important topics. Computer
analyzing and statistics. It has been said that these two are the basis of the jobs someone will
receive in the future. They encourage these two so that students can get a job at a much faster

pace. She went to explain that back then many students who came here didnt have that much
help here. It wasnt student friendly the math departments job back then just gave classes and
hoped you met someone who can help. When time flew by the math department established
tutoring centers and had alumni and faculty come back and give advice to those who needed it.
As I said before and something my advisor said was that stats and computer analyst are
very important and are ever emphasized in the math department there are even those emphasized
types of major. You can get a degree in math and had emphasized in stats it looks better and it
helps you get to where you want to be. They tend to look into careers and get an idea on what
they do so they base their classes and ideas on those topics because in the future students need to
learned how to use those types of problems without any troubles and look more qualified than
anybody else.
Observation
When observing a math class it was very different from what many other classes do. First
off most math classes are lecture base so the teacher doesnt go other one on one with the
student. Second when a student needs help they have to raise their hand and have to let the whole
class know what seems to be the problems. There are many pros and cons about this way of
teaching. When you dont interact well enough with the students you cant gain an understanding
why they do the problems like that. So stunts join together in class and have discussions on their
own and try to help each other out on why it is so hard to do the problem or formula. The teacher
though is still helping in any way they can she gets assistant to come and help her go around the
room in a much faster pace and try to help as much people as possible. The teacher still ask
questions if anyone gets it if she feels if nobody gets it and a pro that is the students who are shy

do not raise their hand so they do not get the help they deserve but those outgoing students ask
the same questions and hope they get an answer.
Statement of significance
The Math department is an important part of the University of Utah. Many people think that
the math department is boring and useless thinking that they will never need it again. So whats
so important about the math department? It helps give people an easier understanding of problem
solving. It may not involve math, but the idea of teaching someone how to solve a difficult
problem. Math in general is a basic way for people to bring out there critical thinking and make
sure they can handle all the information without having any trouble. Practices that are important
to everyday life is how to handle difficult questions without giving up, while also incorporating
the knowledge of not giving up.
The audience know very little about the math department so they want to learn more without
much looking around. They may know the basic but they want to see why it is so great why this
department will help out the reader in the long run. The audience want to learn more so they are
positive that they want to see this subject. The more this subject helps the reader the more
positive it helps those seeking it. The reader may be a little nervous about the department but
learning the great stuff from it is always grateful.
People who care about the math department usually have had a good experience with it or
they enjoy math itself. To them the math department is a vital tool to their education. Many
people who became engineers, scientists, and physicists all have roots in math because is an
essential part of their basic learning. Math is a vital part for each subject they need it so they can
understand there major and the future degree they will receive in the future.

Math is significant to the reader because they need it in the future for many reason and that it
will help someone progress in both a technical term and a non-technical form. Many of the
documents that I have analyzed give of the same thing that the math will help you in learning and
that you should apply it in everyday life. Also a lot of careers and university require you to know
the basic parts about math, so in the end math helps everyone reading this document.
