ABSTRACT

This research was intended to describe the observation on procedure, students attitude and
students vocabulary achievement to Year 5 students of SK Sitiawan 2014 academic year.
Describing the observation, pre-post and post-test on procedure, students attitude and
students vocabulary achievement refer to the procedure applied by the teacher, the students
motivation and pleasure in vocabulary comprehension and how far they comprehend and
pronounce the words in the form of song lyrics as the material. Further, to indicate their
interest on the material can be shown by their attention to listen to the song and doing the
exercises in the students vocabulary achievement. The research participants consisted of 10
girls and 15 boys which were chosen based on the diagnostic test result. The findings have
proven that the used of songs with lyrics and music was successfully able to help the research
participants to enhance their vocabulary and solved the problem encountered by them. One of
the main strength of using songs with lyrics and music was that it helped the pupils to relate
words based on the lyrics and pictures based on the music in the songs.
