Summary (No less than 10 sentences for full credit)
In the eight weeks since the truce came into force, the UN says 957 people have been
killed including violations from both sides. Russia has been accused of aiding the rebels by
covertly supplying them with military aid, which has been denied by Russia. The Prime
Minister of Ukraine and president of Lithuania have spoken out against Russia stating that
it is a terrorist State and threat to global order. Putin during a meeting in Moscow Said
that the crisis is a warning and lesson to the color revolutions. The total deaths since the
beginning of the conflict is 4,317 death and, nearly 900,000 people have fled their homes.
Of the people that left nearly 400,000 of them went to Russia. In its actual report, the
UN refers to a "total breakdown in law and order, and a lack of any human rights
protection for the population" under rebel control in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Cases of human right abuse that the rebels are accused of include torture, arbitrary and
many others. Ukrainian government forces and volunteer militias fighting the rebels have
been also been accused of human rights abuses such as illegal detention, torture and illtreatment. Officials deny the claims. As part of the truce signed in the Belarusian capital,
Minsk, monitors from the European security body, OSCE, were to observe the eastern
areas and the borders with Russia. The monitors stated that they too have come under
attack from uniformed soldiers operating near a government-held area however no one was
hurt.

I am surprised at the amount of deaths that have happened after the ceasefire
agreement took place. The number of deaths is nearly one fourth of the total number. I
am also amazed at how each side does bad things. From what I had known from before the
crisis was Putin wanting to take over Ukraine and was the only one doing amoral actions
however that is not true. Russia has been accuse of human right violations and kill during a
Cease fire however Ukraine has been accused of those actions has well. The violation of
human rights is something that is completing astounding to me both as both Russia and the
Ukraine are developed nations and that know very well what rights people deserve. I
wouldnt ever think that a problem like that would ever exist.
