CHAPTER 2 REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE


1.0 Introduction
This chapter presents survey of related literature and writing of
recognized experts, both of which have significant bearing or relation to
the problem under investigation. Presented in chapter 2 are synthesis of
research that supports the Employee Profiling System and its benefits.
1.1 Review of Related Literature
1.1.1 Foreign Literature
Federation University Australia
According to Federation University Australia, because of
Employee Profile System all employees have their own employee
profile within the PRDP (Review and Development Program)
system. It is able to be viewed by the employee, PRDP
Supervisors, Managers and Human Resources now because the
system is web-based. The personal and position details
information is automatically provided via system. If the information
of an employee is not correct they may contact the System
Officers for corrections.

DadeSchools.net
Dade School provides web-based information of their staffs.
They also provide their Employee Highlights: the 2014 Employee
benefits, Hiring, and the Teacher of the year but not everybody
can see the full view because it has a security system that will
only allow log-in the authorized person or their employees.

Harvard University
Harvard University provides so much information for their
Faculties and Staffs including their needs in teaching, guidelines,
etc. They also inform the Faculties and staffs if there are meeting
and schedules for meeting through the website. And when the
development group views the profile of Organizational Chart it
says, Access denied, you are not authorized to access this
page, because it is only for authorized person, it can
distinguished by the website if the person viewing the site does
not familiar or not related to the School without doing anything.

University of California Irvine


University of California Irvine's Faculty Profile System is the
"virtual" family of UCI researchers whose professional biographies
are searchable by name (or "sounds like"), department, Research
Unit, or any term in key words or other data fields. E-mail links are
built in to each record, as are optional links to personal or
departmental web pages. The Faculty Profile System requires
that Employee ID number matches a UCI title that the system
classifies as faculty. In the unlikely event that the ID number does
not match facultys name or profile, the faculty may contact
the webmaster.

Yale School of Medicine


YSM Profile System was designed to collect, display, and
utilize information about faculty in order to improve faculty
communications,

engender

sense

of

community

and

collaboration at Yale School of Medicine (YSM), expand


information about YSM faculty online, and improve the internal
and external reputation of YSM. The information collected by the
system is pulled, when possible, from existing university
resources and augmented by faculty members and departmental
administrative staff. Faculty members can log in (using their
netIDs) to profile.yale.edu and easily update their information or

is a simple and elegant user experience that requires little

Iligan Institute of Technology of the Mindanao State
University
As the group sees the Faculty and Staff Profile of Iligan
Institute of Technology it is clear that MSU-IIT (Iligan Institute of
Technology of the Mindanao State University) in its pursuit of
excellence has vigorously maintained an efficient, qualified, and
world class faculty system. Their academic ranks, educational
attainments and appointment status are also sees and charted at
the website. So now, transaction is easier because they provide
easy access to information needed for their employees.

Polytechnic University of the Philippines


Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) provides a
web-based system of Faculty Management System (FMS). As the
group sees to PUPs web-based FMS it is only exclusively for
faculty members of the schools only and has security so the
group cannot see the full content of the System. PUPs Faculty
Management System Modules included are: Messaging, Faculty
Load, Faculty Profile, Grading Sheet, and Calendar.

De La Salle University
De La Salle University provides a website that contains
important information about their school like the Facultys
information; Faculty e-mail query, the alphabetical list Faculties,
list of Emeriti, and Faculty Activities. It is also states there that if
Faculty members who wish to update their records can download
the Faculty Update Form (pdf/27kb) from the Intranet site and
send the accomplished form to their VCA Office. It also shown in
the web-based system(List of Emeriti) that DLSU also honors and
recognizes retired University administrators and professors who
have provided distinguished service to the University and the
Lasallian community by conferring upon them the designation of
Emeritus or the retired employees of the University.

Bulacan State University


Bulacan State University (BulSU) provides its website some
information of their Faculties and Administration President,
Officials and Board of Regents, its lists with their corresponding
position/work at Bulacan State University. The website only
showed the names of the Faculties and the Administration, but
not their profiles for unauthorized persons to protect the
information from person with malicious intent.

1.4 Synthesis
Some HR System in Foreign Literature are only viewed the whole
system by an authorized person. In the (HR) Profiling System to be
developed it is also for authorized person only because of its privacy.
Based on Local Literature the De la Salle Universitys HR System has
records for Emeritus or Retired Employees the (HR) Profiling System to
be developed also includes records of emeritus employees to give honor
and recognized them too. The (HR) Profiling System that will develop
supports PDF files so that important documents and files will store in the
systems database for back-up purposes.
