Director, Anne Brezina Dietetic Internship at the James A. Haley VA Hospital
13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612
Dear Ms. Lewis,
I know you have read many applicants cover letters, but I assure you none of them
are more passionate about nutrition and helping others than I am. I truly and
genuinely care about people and strive to do everything I can to help them. That is
why I chose the path of the Registered Dietitian. I am a senior in the Nutrition and
Dietetic program at the University of North Florida graduating in May of 2015. I
am writing to express my interest in the Anne Brezina Dietetic Internship program.
As a former veteran myself, I feel that I would be an excellent match for your
program because I can not only relate to the patients, but I am also extremely
passionate about helping them. I first learned about your program while doing a bit
of research for internship programs online through the academys website.
Although there are many internships available, I feel yours would foster the most
growth in my career.
Due to the time I spent in the military, I feel I have developed a skillset that the
average college student does not possess. Being able to adapt to any situation
while multitasking has served me well in every job position Ive filled, and would
only make me a better Registered Dietitian. In addition, I have developed
impeccable customer service skills that will allow me to connect with patients and
assist them in making healthier choices. While my experience in clinical and food
service is minimal, I am a quick learner and motivated to gain as much knowledge
and practical skills as possible through the help of your program. I have attached
my resume to better elaborate on my skills and experience.
I would absolutely love the opportunity to join your program and I am extremely
prepared to work hard and represent you with utmost diligence and excellence.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you very
soon.
Sincerely,
Ward Patrick
