5.2. :APOGEE Prepress configuration

JDF files from Preps can be used in :Apogee Prepress in 2 ways, depending on the system license.

With :Apogee Manage or :Apogee Integrate, you can set the Impose Task Processor to From file and browse
to the output JDF file.

In this way you have to place the content files manually in the correct runlist positions.

Only in Apogee Integrate, you can set the Impose Task Processor to From input and import the output JDF file
(and subfolders) in the JDF Import Taskprocessor.

In this way the content files are automatically imported as well and automatically placed in the correct runlist
positions.

Output to JDF

Choose File, Print.

Choose Send to: JDF and select the Press Sheet Size as Media.

Select 'PDF Color mapping' and switch to the 'Color Separations' tab

Add Color PANTONE 102 C with Line Screen 100 and Angle 45. This is necessary because Preps adds all
spot colors from the content files in the JDF file even if they are not used in the job. These spotcolors will have
screen settings that cant be handled by :APOGEE.

Click Print.

Save the JDF on a shared or mounted location which is accessible by the :APOGEE Prepress server.

Note Preps generates at the root a JDF file and a JDFMarksFlats folder. This folder contains a PDF file with
:
the marks inside. The content files remain on the shared or mounted location.
