formed in Sydney , Australia
in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers
Malcolm and Angus Young.

Why is the band called AC/DC

Malcom wanted a name for the band. His sister Margaret
suggested the acronym AC / DC.
This acronym was on a sewing-machine.
AC/ DC is an abreviation meaning alternating current/direct
current.

He was born in 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland.
He is the nephew of the AC/DC guitarists Angus
and Malcom Young.
He joined the band in September 2014, replacing
his uncle Malcom Young.

This is Cliff Williams, the bassist.

He was born in 1949 in England.
He's British.
He was previously in the British bands Home and
Bandit.

This Brian Johnson, the singer.

Brian was born in Saint Paul ,
Minnesota (USA) on 5 October, 1947.

This is Angus Young. He is the lead guitar.

Angus was born in Glasgow , Scotland on 31 March
1955

This is Phil Rudd, the drummer.

Phil was born in Melbourne , Victoria,
Australia on 19 May 1954. His parents
are from Lithuania.
