RUDYARD KIPLING
Biography


Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay, India, in 1865. When
he was still young, in 1871, he was brought from his
temporary home in India to a foster home in England. He
stayed there for five years that were very unpleasant for
him. His talent bloomed when he went to the United
Services College. In 1882, he returned to India where he
found a lot of inspiration.
In 1907, he was the first English author ever to win the
Nobel Prize for Literature.
His life came to a tragic end in 1936.
Many people regarded him as the soldiers author, because
he had written so much from their point of view. This alone
is remarkable, since he had never participated in any
military duty.
