FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OCTOBER 2, 2014

STATEMENT OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER ATHAVIA SENIOR IN
RESPONSE TO POLITICAL TARGETING BY FRANK MYERS

Campaign law requires the filing of periodic reports. My campaign missed
some technical record keeping deadlines. Most recently the campaign missed a
deadline to report $4.08. The end result is that I was fined $2375. I paid this out
of my personal funds. I take all laws seriously and accept full responsibility for
meeting all record keeping deadlines. I have paid all fine to remedy the situation
and all report fillings are current.

While I regret this oversight of a technical record keeping error, I am not
alone. As many school board members and elected officials all over the state of
Georgia have the exact same technical violations. Why was I singled out?

These missed deadlines occur but typically go unaddressed unless a
complaint is filed. Frank Myers mouth piece and partner in the attempted hostile
take over of the Board, Nathan Smith, made the complaint about my campaign
missing those report deadlines.

The reason I was singled out is simple. Two years ago, Frank Myers
recruited me to run for the School Board. He acted like he wanted to help me get
elected because of my background of service. In reality he just wanted me on the
Board to rubber stamp his twisted agenda. When I put my constituents and the
children firsthe turned on me.

I believe this complaint was motivated by a personal vendetta from Frank
Myers and was intended to punish me for having the nerve to disagree with him,
represent my constituents and vote my conscience.

Because of my strong personal and professional ethics I will continue to
stand up against the bullying tactics of Frank Myers and his cronies. I will
continue to serve the best interest of the children in my district and in Columbus.
