Supplies: Students are expected to bring the following to each class:
Three ring binder with dividers
Scribbler/Notebook
Loose leaf paper (
Pencils, eraser (All math work should be done in pencil)
Pens: red and blue/black
Calculator: scientific

Surface Area - Chapter 5
Volume - Chapter 7
Tessellations - Chapter 12
Statistics and Probability May to June
Probability - Chapter 11
Representing Data - Chapter 1
Review - June

*** Please note these dates are approximate and the order of the course content may change at any time.
Important Information:
1. Come to class PREPARED! Books out, pencils ready, eyes up front be ready for 45 minute
classes of Math!
2. To show respect for: other people in the class/school, for themselves and for class materials and
school property.
3. To do all homework assignments all assignments are due the next day unless stated otherwise.
4. To show all of your work.
5. To use pencil for all math work.






































Student Evaluation:
Each curriculum objective (student learner outcome) is reported on and may be assigned a different
value within this course. The assessment categories for each objective may include: tests, assignments,
quizzes, and unit tests; their percentage may vary depending on the focus and breadth of each
objective.

Report Card Breakdown:
Term Work 75% (25% each term)
Final Exam 25%
Weighting of each term will be determined each term and will be based on amount of work
completed in that term.

Middle School Late Assignments:
If assignments are not handed in on time, students will be assigned to study hall.

You can be successful:
All it takes is effort and time everyday!
Plenty of notes, examples and practice assignments will be used to allow you to practice and master
the content we cover this year.
Ensure you utilize having a homework buddy: this is a great way to create a study session, or be
able to use as an extra person to get help from, missed work from etc.
Dont be afraid to make mistakes (that is why we use Pencil!!!) and ask questions, its a fantastic way
to learn.
If you wish to receive help, more practice or challenge questions, please come see me and I will
provide you with what you need to make the most of this class.
