This upgrade not only makes it easier than ever to write business with ACIC, but it also
provides a stable platform that fosters new product development. ACIC has significantly
increased its staff to ensure a smooth transition for our agency partners. The system upgrade
project will occur on a state-by-state basis and coincides with our AgencyPortal rollout.
AgencyPortal is a new Web-based rating system that makes it easy to do business with
ACIC. It incorporates automated underwriting, protection class look-up, report integration
and much more. AgencyPortal was released to our AAA Southern New England (AAA
SNE) agents this past August. Since it's release, AgencyPortal has generated positive
responses from AAA SNE. AgencyPortal puts ACIC in a good competitive position, said
Frank Doyle, Senior Vice President of Insurance for AAA SNE. During my agent visits,
I heard many positive comments on the systems easy navigation and enhanced features.
ACIC is in the midst of a major initiative to upgrade its base system.

Since its purchase by The Commerce Group
Inc. (CGI) in 1999, ACIC has become the main
platform for CGIs growth outside of Massachusetts,
experiencing an 80 percent direct premium growth
while demonstrating a profitable combined loss ratio.
CGI writes policies in 15 states and has more
than 1,285,000 policies in force. A publicly traded
company with nearly 33 million shares outstanding,
CGI has a track record of consistent growth.
In 2005, it boasted $1.8 billion in direct written
premium and was ranked as the 19th largest auto
insurance group in the nation by A.M. Best.
ACIC provides industry leading claims
service with strategically located Regional
Claims Offices. These offices are located
throughout the country to provide
state-specific claims handling and 24-hour
direct loss reporting to expedite the claims
settling process.
Extraordinary circumstances demand extraordinary service. At a moments notice,
ACICs Catastrophe Response Team mobilizes staff and equipment to the area that has
had a catastrophic weather-related event.
ACIC views the claims process as an opportunity to learn about the needs of its insured
and to build meaningful agent partner relationships. ACIC initiated the Agency Contact
Plan to promote open communications between its claims staff and agency partners. In
gaining these perspectives, ACIC is striving to provide the highest level of service possible.
