E-portfolio Self-assessment
During my English 1010 Course, I wrote a few different essays. My work consisted of a
visual analysis, rhetorical analysis and a reflective essay. All of these essays were on topics I
personally got to chose. I feel as though I learned many things about writing. I learned how to
analyze text and how to read from multiple perspectives, giving me a better understanding of the
texts that are presented to me in every day life. I definitely had formatting issues during the
course and need to better understand how to format in MLA form and how to compose my work
in college format. I will have to work better at this and possibly even look into taking a course on
campus.
For my issue exploration project, I wrote about Animals kept in captivity in places like
zoos and SeaWorld. I explored different perspectives and got a better understanding of the
advantages and disadvantages of the issue at hand. I also learned that you have to be careful what
sources you use for research. I learned that many sites are bias, and do not cover the opposing
perspective.
