Description of Activity Reflection
8/14/13 3 Hrs. Project Invest Mentor Training- training to mentor a novice teachers I learned so much about what it would take to mentor a new teacher;

through, and what it looked like when they were having successes
and struggles.

30 Hrs. Served as a campus mentor to a novice teacher with no experience.
Met with her for one hour weekly for supplemental planning and 2
and performed 2 -45 minute evaluations in her classroom as a
requirement of the program.
I worked with a very smart and pleasant mentee. I was anxious
because I was always worried about doing the right things for her
and giving her the right advice. She had questions about planning,
management, and professional relationships. I was able to see much
growth in her and she has blossomed into an amazing teacher.
1/13/14 5 Hrs. Interviewed candidates for a Special Education Teacher Position I got lots of insight by talking to the principal about what she thought
of the candidates and watching her ask questions. I started thinking

candidate.

Review
I was very nervous about speaking in front of a staff. I was familiar

started off shaky, but was very confident by the end. It gave me
confidence for future time speaking in front of a group.

2/4/14 3 Hrs. Primary Math Group 1- Meeting and Preparation: videotaping
myself working with students, planning agenda for teachers,
gather materials, running off handouts for the meeting, and
facilitating the meeting
This was a group that I wanted to start in response to the diverse
needs of our students in math. We needed more differentiation in
our approach to small groups and a better method for knowing what
our students knew. In this group, I trained teachers on a program
called, Teaching Number. I modeled what the different levels
looked like with videos, gave them strategies for moving students
from level to level, and gave them teaching tools that they could use
at the small group math table. This group had 8 sessions that showed
all of the levels and ended with a celebration of learning.

2/15/14 8 Hrs. Love and Logic Training I learned ways and strategies to work with students for effectiveness
and to understand where students were coming from. I know the
