SESSION 1 DESCRIPTION
Providing Effective Feedback in the Elementary
Math Classroom
Participants will become familiar with the Math
K-8 NY CCSS Instructional Practice Guide and
how it aligns to the Danielson and Marzano
rubrics. Participants will utilize the tool while
analyzing instructional videos, math example
problems, and practice providing effective
feedback.
Providing Effective Feedback in the Middle School
Math Classroom
Participants will become familiar with the Math
K-8 NY CCSS Instructional Practice Guide and
how it aligns to the Danielson and Marzano
rubrics. Participants will utilize the tool while
analyzing instructional videos, math example
problems, and practice providing effective
feedback.
Providing Effective Feedback in the High School
Math Classroom
Participants will become familiar with the Math 9-
12 NY CCSS Instructional Practice Guide and how
it aligns to the Danielson and Marzano rubrics.
Participants will utilize the tool while analyzing
instructional videos, math example problems,
and practice providing effective feedback.
Special Ed Apps for Instruction/Adaptations
This session will look at some great Apps that can
be used inside of a special education classroom.
The Apps will be broken down by differentiation,
Alignment to the curriculum, data collection and
motivation for our special education students.
Using AIMSWeb to inform SLOs
There are several methods you can use to set
SLO targets in Aimsweb. Come explore some
ideas that may work for your district including
Rate of Improvement and Growth Norms.
Aimsweb will also provide scores for you - their
process will be explained. Please bring your
login credentials with you.
SESSION 2 DESCRIPTION
Special Ed for Principals - What is your Role?
Build an awareness of the special education
process regarding federal and state regulations
relevant to principals.Support the collaboration
of general and special education teachers to
ensure access to general education for students
with disabilities in the least restrictive
environment.
Testing Misconduct, Mandatory Reporting,
and Recommended Training for Faculty
Learn about the newest regulations for
mandatory reporting of testing misconduct,
including educator misconduct, filing reports with
the Test Security Unit, whistleblower protection,
the role of the Integrity Officer, recommended
training for all proctors and avoiding testing
improprieties.
Aligning Student, Teacher, and Principal
Evaluation
Thiswill be an interactive session that gathers
perception data and identifiesgaps between
student, teacher, and principal evaluation.
Through activie participationdata will be
collected and analyzed to determine what can be
controlled locally and what are non negotiables.
Data Warehouse Level 1 Primer for Principals
Principalswill experience exploringthe level 1
data warehouse focusing on instructional reports
and cubes. Participants should come prepared
with user ids and passwords so they can login
(uses email) to the data warehouse to follow
along with the facilitator. Verify your login before
attending.
Using STAR to inform SLOs
STAR assessments predict an end of year score
based on the thousands of data points. This
predicted score can be helpful in setting SLO
targets as well as progress monitoring goals.

credentials with you as well as the STAR link to
your district database.

5 Keys for Principal Support of a Successful
Coaching Program
Principals who have Boces staff for coaching are
highly encouraged to attend. Professional
development programs are most effective when
they involve intensive forms of support. When
coaching programs are designed well and leader
supported, the chances for positive impact are
greatly increased.
Checking for Understanding in order to
Increase Student Engagement:
Anytime you ask a student to do something you
have created engagement. When teachers
create systems for checking for understanding as
an ongoing part of the lesson, student
engagement is increased.
Collegial Conversations around the CCLS
implementation
How are teachers in your district implementing
the CCLS? Session will offer opportunities for
structured discussion groups around a variety of
related curriculum topics, including scheduling,
vocabulary, available resources, guided reading
and more.
School Program Evaluation Using the School
Report Card
Using trend analysis when looking at district and
school report cards can help educators to find
strengths and weaknesses in education
programs. This session will show educators how
this process works. Participants should have
access to their district 2011-2012 and 2012-2013
School Report Cards.
AR4Ed
Find out what augmented reality (AR) is and it's
impact in the classroom. Examples of how local
schools are transforming learning through the
inquiry process will be shown. Best used with
mobile devices/tablets and addresses STEAM
and 21st century skills within the classroom.

Participants will share their experience using the
ELA K-2 and 3-5NY CCSS Instructional Practice
Guides, practice using the tool while analyzing
instructional videosfor the ELA Shifts,explore
givingeffective feedback using the tool, and
brainstorm uses for this tool in your
building/district.
Providing Effective Feedback using ELA shifts in
SS, Sci and Technical Subjects (grades 6-12)
A shift is the transition from present work to
common core standards. The 6 shifts require
content area teachers to be truly aligned in terms
of curricular materials and instruction. Overview
of what it looks like in those classrooms,
modifications needed for SWD, ELL, and content
specific issues.
Flip the Faculty (Meeting)

teachers by flipping your faculty meeting. Get
tips and tricks from experienced principals, along
with technology options to make flipping

e-Doctrina for administrators - SLOs
This session will be a showcase of the updates in

general information will be shared. Additional
follow up options will be provided.

basics of Twitter and use it as a means for
professional growth within the education world.

guide recommendations for special education
services using a student need-centered process
for determining service recommendations on an
IEP. Specially Designed Instruction that supports
each individual student needs in the least
restrictive setting.
This session will introduce participants to the tools
they need to organize, explore and summarize data
using powerful features of excel.
