CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS: (Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and leadership from completing this field experience? Overall I found this experience to be very enlightening. Many times over my career administrators have given teachers test results however they have never analyzed those results nor have they identified specific target areas for instructional change. By digging down into the data I realize how much information is available if it is collected properly and you ask the right questions.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)
I must know how the data is collected and for what purpose. I must be able to identify specific areas which need improvement. I must be able develop instructional strategies to reach identified target areas for improvement. Knowledge of technology resources and tools for communication and collaboration is essential for a technology leader.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This experience has encouraged me to talk more with other teacher about data and how we can use it for instructional improvement. We now have a designated data board in our teacher lounge. The impact can be assessed thorough surveys, departmental communications, and assessment results.
