the year. Please feel free to contact me through email at googoom@ccrsb.ca should you have
any questions or concerns related to your sons/daughters progress.

Regular Parent/Teacher conferences have been scheduled throughout the school year. If any
concerns arise between these regularly scheduled conferences, parents may be contacted by
note, telephone or email.

Parents are encouraged to check Power School for student progress. Parents who are unable
to access Power School can contact the main office, 896-5550, for assistance.

EXTRA HELP:

Extra help will always be available if the student makes prior arrangements with the teacher.
Student help is given in the second half of the lunch period or afterschool. Class time can also
be used following instructional time.

MISSED WORK/ASSESSMENTS:

Attendance is important. When a student is absent, I make note of it and place any given
worksheets on the Bulletin board located at the entrance of the classroom. It is the
responsibility of the student to obtain any work they missed from the bulletin board, from me
or from a classmate. Assessments such as tests, quizzes, presentations, etc. must be made up.
As soon as class is over, the student can approach me and Ill be more than happy to fill them in
on what was missed.

LATE ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES:

All assignments are given generous time to complete during school hours. It is important that
students use their work time wisely. It is important for students to come to class prepared to
work on their assignments. Forgetting supplies and work impedes the student from
completing their work and projects on time. All assignments have a clearly defined due date
and should be handed in on that date. If a student does not pass in the assignment on time,
their name will be recorded, extra help time will be provided and the parent/guardian may be
contacted if it becomes a concern. Students are instructed to write deadlines into their TJHS
Agendas, written on the Class Homework whiteboard and recorded on the TJHS homework
website: http://tjh.ccrsb.ca Information will also be communicated to students and parents on
the Power school website.
