Educational Philosophy for Kanika Bass

The goal of education is to prepare students to be critical thinkers and lifelong

learners while preparing students to be active members of a global society. Partnership
and collaboration is crucial for student's growth. The first partnership I feel will be
essential for the success of my campus would be a teacher and student partnership.
The school should provide a positive and safe environment that has caring and
supportive adults who will serve as teachers, mentors, and role models for students.
Each student should be greeted by each teacher and they should feel that the adults
they encounter help them reach their full potential daily.
I also believe that the partnership between home and school is important.
Parents are a vital part of the puzzle that is critical for student's success. Parents should
feel welcome on campus and it is important to know that they are vital to their child's
success. The community should also be involved in the education of our students. The
community can provide invaluable resources such as mentors for students. The school,
community, and parents are stakeholders in education with shared responsibility and it
is our duty to empower students and help them succeed in their educational endeavors.
In education, it is important to have academic rigor should ensure that students
are prepared to compete in a global society. Students must be taught critical thinking
skills. Standards must be high and the standards are communicated to students, staff,
and parents. Teachers must plan lessons that are meaningful to students that teach the
adopted curriculum. Assessments, such as formative and summative assessments,
should be administered to assess student's progress. Assessments give teachers a
clear picture of what is known and what needs to be taught. Teachers should use
differentiated instruction to ensure that all learners' needs are being met. As an
instructional leader, it is my job to know the latest instructional strategies and it is my job
to make sure that teachers are using the latest instructional strategies and using the
best practices for students on campus.
A partnership between administration and staff is important for the success of
the school. Collaboration between teachers and administration will increase student's
success. As an instructional leader, I believe that it is important for all parties to share
the vision of the campus. As an instructional leader, I want to be a person who listens
and problem solves alongside my staff.
