Hawk Football
As school was just
getting underway, everyone
was pumped for the start of
football season. Everyone
remembered the amazing turn
around last season. The
Hawks started out 0-2 but
went on an 8 game win streak
to finish 8-2. They fell just
short of a 9 game winning
season to Westlake in the
UIL 5A State Playoffs.

To kick off the 2013
Football Season, Hawk
Nation had a pep-rally to
welcome the New and
Returning Varsity Hawks.
The season would be
underway at 7:00pm, hosting
the 4A State semifinalist,
Rouse Raiders, to whomwe
lost to last year 50-23.
Hendrickson not only the 4A
State Semifinalist, but won
28-0. What an amazing way
to start off.
In their first 2 games
against Rouse and Leander,
which were 2 teams they lost
to last year, the Hawks scored
a total of 80-0.
Hendrickson traveled to
The Palace to play McNeal
o have a chance to finish with
a perfect season, which
would be the first time in
school history. Both teams
came out and were fired up.
Hendrickson came out with a
close victory 21-7.
Hendrickson finished the
year 10-0, they outscored
their opponents 327-122.

Hendrickson will play there
2
nd
playoff game as a 5A
school against Westlake
again. This time Hendrickson
will show up and get revenge.

Hawk Volleyball
Hawk Volleyball has
been on an up rise in previous
years. Starting in 2008 to
2010 the Lady Hawks did not
make the UIL 4A State
Volleyball Playoffs. For
being a new school this was
not uncommon.
But starting in 2011 the
Hawks went amazingly 14-2
in District and 32-16 overall.
They finally got a spot in the
UIL 4A State Volleyball
Playoffs.

One year later, the
Hawks made the move to 5A
and did very well for their
first time in 5A. In 2012 the
Hawks went 29-13 and lost in
the second round to
Kingwood.
This year (2013) the
Hawks went 7-5 in district,
26-10 overall. They again
lost in the second round to
The Woodlands which is the
2
nd
rankled teamin the state.
The Hawks had a great year.
There ranked 41 in the State
which is the highest theyve
been, which is surprising
since there in 5A.

Band
One Goal
The Hawk Bands first
competition this year was in
Conroe, Texas. The Hawks
put a great show together
with the help of their
directors and band parents.
The Hawks did not qualify
for finals but got 15
th
place
out of 25. Top 14 made it to
finals.
In their next competition
the Hawks went up against
the favorite to win, Bowie
and Round Rock. The Hawks
finished 3
rd
. Next they
traveled to Converse and
finished 2, and lost by.8
th
of a
point to one of the best bands
in Texas.
The Band finished there
year in San Antonio. All the
Band students were excited,
but their dreams fell short,
the finished 29
th
, the same
place they finished at in the
5A State Marching
Competition. Now the band
is preparing for their trip to
Chicago, therere the featured
band and will march in the
Thanksgiving Day parade.
