Dear Melissa, A lot of people get nervous in situations like

I’m 16 and my friend think I’m polite and
one of the nicest guys in the group. The
problem is that I get shy when I’m near the
girl I’m in love with. When I want to invite
her to go out, I become very nervous: my
heart beats faster, I start to sweat, and I
can’t say a single word. To be honest, I’m
afraid the girl might say ‘no’. So I get
depressed and I start eating a lot of junk
food. And worst of all, I’m getting fat. What
should I do to get over this problem?

Dear Rick,
this. You’re not the only one. First of all,
you should believe in yourself. If a girl says
‘yes’, that’s fine; but if she says ‘no’, you
shouldn’t worry so much. Every person is
different. If a girl doesn’t want to go out
with you, she should have her reasons. You
should think about your own qualities.
Second, you should eat healthy food
instead of junk food. It will make you feel
much better. Third, exercise! Take a walk,
go cycling, keep fit! You’ll relieve stress,
and be healthier and happier. Finally, you
should think about yourself, release your
tension, and breathe deeply. Don’t give up!
