EDUCATION AND TRAINING Pennsylvania State University August 2013 - Present Currently, I am taking courses to be able to declare mechanical engineering as my major. My course load includes the required mathematics and sciences needed for this rigorous degree. Navy Nuclear Power Pipeline September 2006 July 2008 I completed extensive in classroom training emphasizing pump and turbine theory, fluid system design as well as many other shipboard systems. Completed advanced courses in math, heat transfer, chemistry, physics, radiological controls, material science, reactor dynamics, and electrical engineering fundamental to the design, operation, and maintenance of naval nuclear propulsion plants. Completed hands on operations training of nuclear power plant systems including water treatment systems, condensate and feed systems, lube oil systems and steam systems. I then stayed in the pipeline for advanced water chemistry and radiological controls training.

POWER PLANT OPERATOR Red Oak Power LLC December 2011 June 2013 Over eighteen months of natural gas fired power plant operations. Safe operation and maintenance of Siemens 501FD2 natural gas fired turbines and a Toshiba condensing reheated steam turbine. Worked as an outside operator and maintenance technician responsible for support equipment for all turbines on site including; pumps, motors, air ejectors, valves, and cooling tower components. Collateral duty: Managed the water chemistry laboratory. Including training other operators and ensuring proper inventory of all water treatment chemicals. USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) August 2008 September 2011 More than three years of outstanding power plant operation in progressively responsible positions. Possess extensive knowledge, experience, and skills in the areas of nuclear power operations. Recognized by senior management for technical expertise and team work onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). Qualified Engineering Laboratory Technician and Chief Reactor Watch while on board.

MILITARY QUALIFICATIONS Chief Reactor Watch-- October 2010 September 2011 As chief reactor watch you are responsible for safe reactor plant operations by supervising a 7 member watch team. These members ensure the steam feed and condensate systems are maintained within normal parameters. The watch team also keeps turbines functioning properly and is required to know casualty operations. Ensured safe startups and shut downs as well as normal operations, transient operations and casualty operations of all reactor room equipment. Engineering Laboratory Technician-- January 2009 - September 2011 Preformed samples of pure water, condensate, feed, boiler water as well as reactor plant water. Supervised workers performing maintenance on potentially contaminated systems to ensure proper radiological controls were observed in accordance with local instructions. Monitored the radiation dose of all crew members that required dosimetry to ensure navy standards are met.
