Cal Poly Career Services is seeking a Marketing Student Assistant to join our team for the 2014-15 academic

year. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing the departments marketing efforts. At Career Services you will be part of a high energy, fast-paced, and fun teamoriented department. Qualifications: Must be a currently enrolled student while employed; minimum 2.5 GPA required Demonstrated experience in marketing, public relations and/or communications Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Highly organized and self-motivated Possess creativity Proficiency with various social media sites General knowledge of Career Services programs and services preferred Experience with Drupal preferred Responsibilities: Develop and implement marketing strategies for Career Services department Assist in the development of an annual marketing plan Facilitate outreach to campus clubs, departments, and other on and off-campus entities Assist with monitoring and maintaining webpage and social media (including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter) Write and distribute marketing/PR content including press releases, portal announcements, emails, and newsletter articles Maintain online event calendar using Google Calendar Collaborate with graphic designer on collateral material Prepare materials for outreach booths at resource fairs such as Open House, Study Abroad Fair, and WOW Ensure consistency of Career Services brand; develop strength and awareness of brand Post and deliver flyers and other collateral materials Create and install display case content, in collaboration with graphic designer Assist Career Counselors and Employer Relations staff in promoting Career Services events and programs Effectively manage time and priorities in order to meet project deadlines Come up with new ways to create on campus presence Maintain prompt hours and follow absence procedures Hold regularly scheduled office hours Act as Career Services ambassador at all times Other duties as assigned Pay rate: $11 per hour; maximum 10 hours per week (average) Anticipated start date: September 8, 2014 Apply through MustangJOBS Deadline: Friday, May 2
