Fulton has a long history of selling thermal fluid heater systems into the Asphalt and Oil Terminal industry. Thermal fluid (hot oil) systems operate in a closed loop circulation system at minimal system pressures. Hot oil systems are resistant to freezing and corrosion and can operate to temperatures of 650F. Thermal fluid heaters are used to provide heat to the oil/asphalt tanks to maintain product temperature or for heat tracing. The hot oil heater can also be used to generate steam with an unfired steam generator thus eliminating the need for a separate steam boiler with fuel line and stack. The steam is often used to heat product prior to unloading the barge or tanker, clean the rail cars or heat trace pipe lines. These units can be skid mounted with circulation pumps, secondary loops, control valves, Fultons combination expansion/deaerator/thermal buffer tank and additional equipment depending on the application. All of our skid packages are custom designed per application and are available in vertical or horizontal configurations.
