1.2 REASON
Some instances have been reported where the door of the nacelle hydraulic
compartment has come off in flight due to wear on Camloc fasteners and/or
improper closure.
To avoid such occurrences, a new door has been developed comprising eight new
latches and a ventilation louver for pressure equalization. Also, the door opening
frame is being modified and reinforced to receive machined latching fittings.
REVISION 01: To change component P/Ns and quantity of material in item 3.

1. Open the nacelle hydraulic compartment door by unlocking the Camloc fasteners (4
positions) and latches (4 positions).
2. Take out the rivets and remove the receptacle supports and the latch bolt strikers from
the door frame. Discard the parts.
3. Remove and retain the bonding cable and hinge screws P/N MS27039-0809 (7
positions) and discard door P/N 120-07993-002, P/N 120-07993-010, or P/N 12007993-012.
4. Adjust new door P/N 120-47974-612 removing the excess material and install it using
screws P/N MS27039-0809 (7 positions) and the bonding cable retained in item 3..
5. Steadily hold the door on the door frame, at the closed position.
6. Draw lines at 6.65 mm 1.0 mm from the edge of the cut-out of the latches as a
reference for the latch bolt striker installation and extend these marks to the nacelle
surface.
7. Open the door and transfer to the inside of the hydraulic compartment (door frame)
the marks made in item 6..
8. Using a double-face adhesive tape, center striker on the reference line and
provisionally place the striker in such a position that when door is closed it will be
slightly below the nacelle external loft line.
9. Mark the striker position.
10. Close the door and actuate its latch.
NOTE: If necessary, gently support the door to prevent its weight from loosening the
striker.
11. Measure the gap between the nacelle loft line and the door.
12. Open the door, remove the striker and the double-face adhesive tape.
- Applicable to "PART I".

13. Add the value of the gap measured in item 11. above the original striker position
mark made in item 9.. Reposition the striker upwards and mark the drilling points at
the center of the oblong holes.
14. Repeat the procedure described in items 8. thru .13. for the other strikers.
NOTES: 1) The strikers and their positions may be observed in Figure 1.
2) Latch bolt striker P/N 120-62481-003 must be laterally mounted on the
suction and pressure quick-disconnect coupling support.
15. Drill the holes as marked in item 13..
16. In the nacelle flap housing, remove and retain screw P/N MS27039-0809 and
washers P/N AN960-8 and P/N MS35338-42, and nut P/N H14-08.
17. Position reinforcements P/N 120-62465-007 (3 positions) in the flap housing so that
the holes made to install the strikers fall into the reinforcement bounds.
18. Verify which upper and lower rivets located in the nacelle flap housing interfere with
the reinforcements. If necessary, displace the reinforcements so as to assure the
edge margin (7 mm), and remove and discard these rivets.
19. Transfer to the reinforcements the holes left by the rivets removed in item 18. and to
the flap housing the reinforcement holes.
Drill a hole of 5.1 mm, that will be used to the bonding.
20. Fix reinforcements P/N 120-62465-007 (3 positions) by using two cleco fasteners in
the upper extremity and two others in their lower extremity.
21. Position reinforcements P/N 120-62465-009 (2 positions) over each reinforcement
P/N 120-62465-007, transfer holes, and rivet them together.
NOTE: Before their installation, the rivets must be immersed in anticorrosive sealant
Spec MIL-S-81733, Type IV-12.

22. Transfer to reinforcements P/N 120-62465-007 the holes made in item 15. for
strikers P/N 120-62482-003, and remove the cleco fasteners.
23. Rivet reinforcements P/N 120-62465-007.
NOTE: Before their installation, the rivets must be immersed in anticorrosive sealant
Spec MIL-S-81733, Type IV-12.
24. In the hydraulic compartment, install each striker P/N 120-62482-003 (3 positions),
positioning screws P/N MS27039-0809 (2 positions), washers P/N AN960D8 (4
positions), and nuts P/N MS21042-08 (2 positions) in the center of the oblong holes.
25. At station X=3600, remove from the frame and discard rivets P/N MS20470AD4-5 as
follows: two at the reinforcement column (wing tip side) bottom, at the support lower
end, and one at the angle bottom.
26. In the landing gear housing, position reinforcement P/N 120-62465-011, transfer to it
the holes left by the rivets removed in item 25., located two at the bottom of the
reinforcement column and one at the lower end of the support. Fix the reinforcement
with cleco fastener, drill the remaining holes, and rivet.
NOTE 1: For the marking of the reinforcement upper rivet holes, consider the rivets
as equidistant.
NOTE 2: Before their installation, the rivets must be immersed in anticorrosive
sealant Spec MIL-S-81733, Type IV-12.
27. Properly position reinforcement P/N 120-62465-002 and transfer to it the hole left by
