    CYCLE 1 – WEEK 5

    September 14th – 18th 2009

    Blazers
    Focus for the Week Pupils are required to wear their blazers whilst travelling
    • Blazers between classrooms. Please ensure all pupils are wearing
    their blazers on entry and exit from classrooms. Blazers
    • Punctuality should only be removed in a classroom where the teacher has
    • Lesson scores given permission because of the activity or the temperature.
    Blazers must not be stuffed into bags and coats must not be
    • Formative feedback to pupils
    worn over blazers in school. Wearing of blazers will not be
    enforced in the canteen.

    Access Control
    This Week Access control will be activated from Monday. It will require all
    staff to be vigilant to ensure we get it working effectively.
    Each door can be adjusted so please Gloria / Helen C if you
    think adjustments are needed.

    Lates
    The new arrangements for lates will start Monday. Lates will
    be entering via the door into the Languages corridor and be
    processed in the foyer near East canteen.
    Lesson Scores
    Lesson scores must be entered for each pupil every lesson.
    Since a recent upgrade symbols for present and absent have
    re-appeared. These will be removed this week. In the
    meantime please check that only numerical values are
    submitted. If a 2 is entered, the event must be logged in
    eportal and followed up at the end of the day.

    Evaluation of examination
    For this week all teaching staff to work with CLLs on
    outcomes
    evaluation of examination outcomes by teaching group. Use
    proforma issued by mcr. CLLs to return their curriculum area
    evaluation by 25th Sept to MCR/BOI

    New Roles
    Phil Carr returns as 11-16 WRL co-ordinator and helping with
    cover.
    Gay Hatton is responsible for literacy development in year 8 &
    9

    Departmental Book Scrutiny


    This will take place in curriculum areas on Friday and will
    provide an opportunity to reflect on the quality of the
    feedback given to pupils and its effectiveness in
    progressing their learning. It is a chance to set the standard
    with each other as much as to look at books after 4/5
    weeks.
