Reading Activity

Level and Age: Novice level Ages 15-16

Objective:

The pre-reading activity will be the handout and the students will anticipate what the text is about. The preposed questions that will be asked to students will be: Where would you go camping and what do you when you go camping? After the students read the story the objective will be scanning/extracting specific information. The advance organizer that I will use will be a vocabulary handout with pictures and words related to camping.

I found this story on Centro Virtual Cervantes website. This story was originally three pages and I modified it to be one page and I added a couple of definitions to the reading. The text is a story about a camping site and the nature that surrounds it..

Activities:

The students will need to read the text twice first to compare the vocabulary handout and second to answer the questions following the reading.

Gente que lee El camping Mediterrneo es un lugar agradable. Est en una playa turstica pero bastante tranquila. Hay muchos pinos y el clima es fantstico.

De junio a septiembre no Paran- stop llueve casi nada. ProtegidoAl lado del mar protected tampoco hace demasiado calor. Por suerte, cerca del camping no hay muchas casas. Hay, sobre todo, campos de naranjos, que en primavera se llenan de flores blancas y naranjas. El pueblo, Benisol, est a 3 kilmetros y la carretera termina en el camping. Al lado del camping hay una zona muy interesante desde el punto de vista ecolgico. Es una zona muy hmeda donde paran muchas aves, en sus viajes hacia frica y hacia el norte de Europa. En particular, el avetoro, un ave protegida.
