Historically, creating museum publications was an expensive undertaking due to primarily to printing and copyright cost, but now with technology digital, image permissions have become more relaxed at institutions including the National Gallery of Art, British Museums, and the Rijksmuseum. Traditional printing was time-consuming. Now with a new workflow, departments are working together so that the development of web, mobile, print, and in-gallery experiences progress in parallel.
