5 3 September 2013 A Fight for Equality As our world is getting larger and humans are reproducing, different opinions towards different situations are proliferating. We as humans do not think the same, nor do we all resemble each other, but that does not mean we are considered different creatures. As stated in The Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we are all created equal. Despite a few differences, The Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights both help protect and explain the importance of human rights.

We humans tend to focus on the outer appearance of others and judge at a first glance, but what is needed as a human is to judge what is on the inside. As stated in the article The Catechism of the Catholic Church, [i]t is the Churchs role to remind men of good will of these rights and to distinguish them from unwarranted of false claims. The Catholic Churchs teaching is to respect all human as your brother. We are no different from the person beside, in front, or behind you. Everyone is equal and have the same rights whether you are a women, male, a different race, color, or religion. God has created each and every one of us in a special way for a reason. We need to have respect for all humans and consider them as another self (Catechism). As declared in the article the Catechism of the Catholic Church The differences among persons belong to Gods plan, who wills that we should need on another.

Mendez 2 As a nation, all humans have equal freedom and human rights. In the article Universal Declaration of Human Rights, recognition of the inherit dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all member of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world. As though there are billions of people in the world, all humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights despite differences like race, color, sex, language, religion, or political. All humans should be treated fairly in held in custody of police. The person who is conflicted of a crime should be innocent until proven guilty. No one should be treated as a slave or an animal for it is against the law. Every human has a right to have an opinion and the opportunity to be active in society without being threaten or punished. Each person has a right to make his or hers decision in life. They are eligible to marry anyone they want, and chose a religion. These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purpose and principles of the United Nations (Universal Declaration of Human Rights). The Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights both see all human as equal to one another. They both believe that we should treat one another as a brother. Written by the Catechism of the Catholic Church Such behavior will cease only through the charity that finds in every man a neighbor a brother. Sated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights they are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. As though there are several similarities there are a few differences. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is more based on religion and believes that God has granted each human a talent. As for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is based on government and believes that we are born free and equal. As life goes on, all humans have opinions and have grown to become more judgmental towards others. We as humans need to be reminded that we are all created equal and have

Mendez 3 freedom. We should open our eyes and realize that we are being selfish to others, and need to show kindness to our society. As stated both in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we should treat each other as our brother.
