Standard 4: Instruction Criteria Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual

student. Strengths and Weaknesses Goals for Student Teaching All of my activities, instructional goals, lessons, and assessments align with the ONLS curriculum for American Government. I could incorporate more of the ONLS into my assessments. So far, I have incorporated my instruction to include aims of closing the achievement gap. I can incorporate more about each individual student's unique learning style into my assessment and instructions. I have provided my students with learning goals directly during my unit, the learning goals are written up under the board under the procedure for the day. I could do a better job of making the learning goals more clear and easier for my students to understand, and linking the activities to those goals. I incorporate various items, activities, and resources into my lessons every day to pertain to all of the different learning styles my students possess. I need to do a better job of incorporating Throughout Student Teaching, I will continue including the ONLS into my activities, instructional goals, lessons, and assessments.

4.2 Teachers use information about students learning and performance to plan and deliver instruction that will close the achievement gap.

During Student Teaching, I plan to differentiate my instruction even more in order to close the achievement gap.

4.3 Teachers communicate clear learning goals and explicitly link learning activities to those defined goals.

During Student Teaching, I will continue to write the learning objectives on the board for the day, and I will also tie the activities conducted in class to those learning goals.

4.4 Teachers apply knowledge of how students think and learn to instructional design and delivery.

During Student Teaching, I will continue to vary my instruction in order to gain the most out of my students.

more activities and resources into my lesson that pertains to all of the different learning styles. 4.5 Teachers differentiate instruction to support the learning needs of all students, including students identified as gifted, students with disabilities, and at-risk students. Throughout my unit I have done a good job of differentiating my instruction for the lower achieving students but I have had trouble differentiating for the higher achieving students. I have provided the students with multiple activities which require them to think outside the box, answer complex and abstract questions, and to develop answers all for themselves. I can do a better job of providing more of these activities for the students to complete. There have been occasions within the classroom where the students have used their own devices as part of my lesson. I could incorporate more technology usage into my lessons and units for the students to be able to use. I will continue to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of ALL the students. I will continue to work on providing higher order questions to all my students, especially the higher achieving students. For student teaching I plan on incorporating more primary source document usage into the units.
