ANCIENT GREEK ART

The arts of ancient Greek has an enormous influence on the culture of many countries all over the world, particularly in the areas of

sculpture and architecture. In the West,

the art of the Roman Empire was largely derived from

three type of figures prevailed the standing

kourous( male), the standing draped girl(kore)

and the seated woman

the most important building in ancient Greek were the

temples. They build temples to honor the gods

they filled temples with statues of the gods and their gifts the building was usually either a cube or a rectangle made

from limestone

there were two main styles of Greek architecture, the Doric and the ionic Doric styles was more formal and sober, the ionic were more relaxed and decorative beside this there was one more column i.e Corinthian
