Scene 1:

Act 3 Summary Computer Project

In scene one we learn that Macbeth wants to kill Banquo so he sends murders to do it.
Macbeth- I wish your horses swift and sure foot and so I do commend you to their backs

We learn in scene two that lady Macbeth and Macbeth really regret killing Duncan.

Scene 2:

Macbeth -We have scotchd the snake, not killed it.

Scene 3
In this scene the murders kill Banquo successfully but Fleance escapes.

Banquo-O, treachery! Fly good Fleance, fly, fly, fly! Thou mayst revenge. O slave!

Scene 4:
In this scene the murders tell Macbeth that Banquo is dead. Macbeth starts to hallucinate and he sees the ghost of Banquo in a room with him.

Macbeth- What man dare, I dare: Approach thou like the rugged Russian bear, The arm'd rhinoceros, or the Hyrcan tiger; Take any shape but that, and my firm nerves Shall never tremble: or be alive again, And dare me to the desert with thy sword; If trembling I inhabit then, protest me The baby of a girl. Hence, horrible shadow! Unreal mockery, hence!

Scene 5

Hecate gets angry at the other witches for not involving her in there plots against Macbeth.

have I not reason, beldams as you are. Sauky, and over-bold? How did you dare, To trade and traffic with Macbeth. In riddles, and affairs of death.

Scene 6
Lennox is talking to some other thanes of Scotland saying how bad Scotland is doing because of the change of rulers and how they are planning to revolt against it.

And that well might advise him to a caution, thold what distance his wisdom can provide.

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth

Macbeth's and Lady Macbeth's relationship changes throughout the course of the play. In the beginning we see Lady Macbeth playing the more superior, more dominating role of the two. As the play progresses and Duncan is killed, Macbeth seems to become the more superior one and makes this own decisions. Lady Macbeth plays the more superior role at first because she put together the plans and all Macbeth has to do is obey her commands. She was a woman, who is persuasive and intelligent She the cause of Duncans death, Macbeth on the other hand just follows her command to prove his manhood but is really unsure if hes doing the right thing. We discover that the man, who is praised so highly by the King and the public, is actually weak and submissive man

Macbeths Actions Act 3 Scene 4

The banquet is underway in the great hall of the royal palace. Amidst the revelers, Macbeth sees the First Murderer and, as inconspicuously as possible, he walks over to speak with him. The First Murderer tells him that the blood Macbeth sees upon his face is Banquo's and that Fleance has escaped. Macbeth is unhappy with the news that Fleance remains alive, but he focuses on the good news of Banquo's death and decides to take his place at the dinner table. But Macbeth's seat is already occupied. It is Banquo's ghost, and Macbeth is horrified. Before his stunned guests he begins to speak to what they believe is an empty chair: "Prithee, see there! behold! look! lo! how say you?/Why, what care I? If thou canst nod, speak too"
