By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

Perform hand passes using overhand with one hand and chest passing as well as overhead passing with two hands at least 3 times during game play. (NASPE #1; MA CF #2.17; Activity #1, 2, 3) Perform foot passes using a kick up by using one foot striking the lower half of the ball at least 3 times in gameplay. class. Transition: Ss will go into the locker rooms to change, and then go outside to the football field and report to the teacher an await instruction. Warmup: Start and stop whistle signal will be explained. Signals: One whistle, Stop and look at teacher and wait for instruction. Warmup Activity: Ball Tag: Game will utilize normal tag rules of if a person is tagged then that person is it. There will be two players as it. Game will be play across 3 courts on one half of each. There will be one soccer ball for students to pass around. Any student with the soccer ball will be shielded from being tagged for five seconds and cant move. Players that are it can only stand about 10 feet within

the student with the ball. Any student holding the ball for more than five seconds will become it.
Transition: Students will report to teacher for instruction. Check for understanding about scoring and why teams pass the ball. Instruction: 16-20 Foot pass Students will use the inside of their foot to contact the ball Used to pass on the ground (Like soccer) Kick Up With the ball on the ground, the foot must contact the lower half of the ball to gain lift. To lift the ball off the floor (Like soccer) Cant kick up to yourself. Chest Pass Use two hands on the ball, pushing the ball away from your chest. Used to throw fast (Like a basketball) Overhand Pass Use one hand with an over the shoulder throwing motion with a hip turn (torque). Used to throw far (Like baseball or football) Transition: 20-21 Teacher will set up 8 teams of 4-5 players, based on skill level and cooperation with others. Two teams at each half court. pennies. 21-31 Activity #1: Foot passing, Kick up, Chest Passing, Overhand throw Students will scrimmage; the first offensive team will be decided by rock, paper, and scissors. The offensive team will start at half court with the ball on the floor. The possession will be initiated with a kick up pass. Offensive team must complete three passes before attempting a shot on goal. Passes must be to three different combinations of players. (i.e. A to B, B to C, C to A not B to C and then C to B) Students must use at least two different passes before shooting. Defensive team will play defense, allowed one goalie, and is allowed to intercept passes. After a goal is scored, play will restart at half court with the ball on the ground. Rules: Player with the ball must remain stationary and may only pivot and pass. One point for a thrown shot Two points for a kicked shot Students will play two 5 minute rounds. Games will be set up as a ladder tournament. Transition: Students will report to teacher for further instruction. Instruction: One leg lift Place one foot on top of the ball.

Defensive team will play defense, allowed one goalie, and is allowed to intercept passes. After a goal is scored, play will restart at half court. Students will play two 5 minute rounds. Teams will report back where they were playing in the ladder tournament. Transition: Students will report to the teacher for further instruction and feedback

Activity #3: Students will remain on their teams and students will resume where they left off. Students will report back to teacher for feedback after two five minute rounds. (3-4 rounds total) Modified game: Offensive team decided by rock, paper, scissors. Games will be initiated with a kick up or kick lift or foot pass. Scoring team will be given one point for each pass made to teammates (self passes do not count and back and forth passes dont count, i.e. A to B and then B to A) 3 passes prior to scoring will add 3 points to the goal. (Maximum of 5 points added) Closure: Teacher will give positive feedback and check for understanding about passes and what sport they are derived from. Transition: Students will file into the
