Destiny
Do you think you can shape your own destiny or do you think there is a force or entity bigger and greater than you that can predetermine it? All around the world people have different beliefs and ideologies of destiny, but it is mostly seen as a series of events that are inevitable and unchangeable. The most common idea or concept of destiny is that people can choose their own destiny by making choices throughout their lives, but at the end, it leads to a predetermined destiny. Some believe that our destiny may be determine by divination or proclaimed as the prediction of a prophet or clairvoyant. In the belief systems of many cultures, one's destiny can only be learned through a shaman, sage (Wiseman), magician or psychic. Throughout history we have seen that ancient civilizations trusted and obey what the wise elders or prophets had to say, today this is not as common or as essential as it was many centuries ago; but still people go to see gypsies, mediums or spiritualists to read their future in the tarot cards. Others believe that God has already written our destiny and has chosen it for a reason. A confusing concept related to destiny is fate; fate is seen as the preordained course of your life that will occur because of, or in spite of your actions. In the other hand destiny is a set of predetermined events within your life that you take an active course in shaping. Fate and destiny both refer to a mans future and fortune. Fate is seen as divinely planned, whereas destiny has the power to be influenced by mans

actions. Fate is often pessimistic or fatalistic about ones fortune whereas destiny is more upbeat and willing to take and chance for betterment. Destiny can be influenced by the environment in which people habit; society, culture and friends have an important role on our destiny but at the end we are the ones who choose what is best for us. People might have different theories but we are the only ones who choose what to believe or not, and more importantly what to do with our lives, always thinking about what is best for us and others, and not relaying on luck or opportunity but to be positive, hard worker and perseverant, because that is the only way your dreams and goals can be achieve, because of your attitude, not others. The power of words can change minds, a yes a no can lead to either happiness or destruction; but you need to seek inside you and look for your own voice, that voice that can lead to great actions, that voice that tells you the way even when is all dark, that shows you the path of the natural course of life even if you dont understand it, a character, an action lead by a voice is destiny, and you have the power to chose your own. I will like to end with a final quote that represents what I would like to express.
