St. Perpetua was young, beautiful and well-educated noblewoman of Carthage, North Africa.

St. Perpetua together with Felicity, Revocatus, Secundulus and Saturninus were all martyred because of their refusal to denounce their faith in Christ. Before her martyrdom, Perpetua envisions herself defeating a savage Egyptian and interprets this to mean that she would have to do battle not merely with wild beasts but with Devil himself. Due to non-refusal of their faith, they were devoured by beasts. She devoured after three days after giving birth to an infant son. The mother and father of St. Felicity also refused to

denounce their faith, so her father was imprisoned. According to some scriptures, St. Perpetuas death was described as follows: She might, have some taste of pain, was pierced between the bones and shrieked out; and when the swordsmans hand wadered still, herdelf set it upon her own neck. Saints Perpetua and Felicity is believed to have died on 7th of March, Year 203.
