Dear Chairman Mollohan and Ranking Member Frelinghuysen:

I am requesting funding for the City of Denton Regional Public Safety Training Facility for fiscal year
2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of Denton, Texas located at 215 East
McKinney, Denton, TX 76201. The funds will be used to equip the facility, including fire simulation
equipment, computerized firearm targeting systems, classroom-based virtual reality simulation equipment
and administrative/classroom multimedia equipment. I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any
financial interest in this project.

Consistent with the Republican Leadership's policy on earmarks, I hereby certify that to the best of my
knowledge this request (I) is not directed to an entity or program named or will be named after a sitting
Member of Congress (exception must be justified here); (2) is not intended for a "front" or "pass through"
entity; and (3) meets or exceeds all statutory requirements for matching funds where applicable. I further
certify that should this request be included in the bill, I will place a statement in the Congressional Record
describing how the funds will be spent and justifying the use offederal taxpayer funds.

Currently, I have established an internal process to ensure that these minimum requirements are met and
believe that my criteria for evaluating these standards far exceed these GOP Conference standards.
Should you require my internal forms I require any potential grantee to complete and certify or my own
personal appropriations request criteria, please contact my staff and they will make them available to your
staff.
