1. C hoose the best tomatoes from the plantskip anything that is overripe, underripe, or misshapen. 2. C ut the tomato in half and squirt out the seeds into a cup of water. 3. L et the seeds sit in room temperature water for 3-4 days. The slime will start to ferment, allowing the seeds to sink to the bottom. 4. P our out the water, the fermented slime, and any floating seeds. 5. P lace the seeds that were at the bottom of the bowl onto a sheet of paper to dry. 6. P lace the seeds in an airtight container along with a small piece of cheesecloth with powdered milk or silica gel in it. 7. L abel the seeds with the name of the variety and the date wthey were collected. 8. Keep them somewhere cool (32-41 degree Fahrenheit).
