Antonio Banderas

He is actor, director, producer and Spanish singer. Jose Antonio Banderas Dominguez, known as Antonio Banderas, was born in Spain, on August, the 10th 1961. He grew up in Romano-Catholic Religion, but he isn't anymore an adept of this religion. His dream was to become a football player, but at the age of 14 years, he broke his leg. Later, he discovered his passion for theatre. He studied at School of Dramatic Arts. He begun his career at a small theatre from Malaga and at 19 years old he joined to National Theatre of Spain from Madrid. Between 1982 and 1990 he became famous through many movies directed by Pedro Almodovar, as "Labyrinth of Passion" (in 1982), "Matador" (1986), "Law of Desire" (1987), "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" (1988), "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" (1990). He moved in USA where his first principal role was in "The Mambo Kings" (1992), followed by a secondary role in "Philadelphia" (1993). In 1994, he stared with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in "Interview with a Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles". After that, he played in other movies, like: "Desperado" (1995), "Assassins" (1995). He was very appreciated for his main role from "The Mask of Zorro" (1998), being the first Spanish actor who plays Zorro in 80 years from his birth. In 2005, he performed again this character in "The Legend of Zorro", but he didn't have the same success. He was often in collaboration with the director Robert Rodriguez. He used his voice in "Puss in Boots, Shrek movie". In 2003, he played on Broadway, in "Nine". He directed "Crazy in Alabama" (1999), in which his wife performed, and "Summer Rain" (2006), where he was also a producer. He has his own brand of perfume and is a fan of Malaga CF and Real Madrid CF. He is known for the love for his birth place and owns 50 % from "Anta Banderas" vineyard from Duero River (in north of Spain)....
