Sink Stopper Knot

This is a useful knot to use to stop a thin rope from slipping out of a large hole.

How to tie a Sink Stopper Knot

A (A) Make a crossing turn. Now make a bight and pass it through
the crossing turn (Just like for a Slipped Overhand Knot). (B)

(C) Tighten the crossing turn by pulling on the bight and the
working end.

(D) Now bring the (short end) working end across the knot so it lies parallel with the previ-
ous turn.

(E) Then take the working end and pass it through the bight.

(F) Hold the know with one hand and pull on the standing end with the other. You
may have to work the knot into shape a little.
