Or
To def en’s likely axes of adv within bdry’s by 070530 Jul 97.
Or
To take up def with fol limitations:
a. Def to be completed by 070530 Jul 98.
b. Covering en’s likely axes of adv within bdrys.
Or
To take up def in KALUPUR(4433) by 050530 Jul 99.
FACTORS
Grd
2. Gen. The area is gen open and flat, thus provides good obsn and F of F. Interspersed
with no of vills and they are thickly vegetated which provide good cover from grd and air obsn.
Grd firm and dry thus x-country mov by MT/foot column is poss except through Rivers, Khals
and bills. Rds/ trs orig from the main rd and passes through the vills provide comm.
2. Met
a. Facts.
b. Findings.
c. Implications.
(1) Due to moon lt from _____ hrs any large scale mov during this pd will
be vis 300 yds to 400 yds.
(2) Since moon lt is aval mov will be facilitated.
(3) Moon lt will facilitate negotiation of obs, breaching of obs etc.
(4) Due to presence of moon lt C2 will be easier.
(5) Since weather is rainy so lands will be submerged under water , thereby,
restricts the x country mov and will hamper the mov of tps.
3. GTIs.
a. HAJIPUR. It is loc astride the main rd having size of 1200 x 1100 yds and
mutually sp with DAUKI and SHANTI. En aslt other than through main rd is difficult.
By capturing it en can adv upto SHANTI and own stay at DAUKI, SHANTI and
KARIMPUR will be difficult.
b. SHITAKUNDA.
c. SONAPUR 4513.
d. MEHERPUR 4813.
e. SHIBPUR 4713
f. SHANTI.
g. KHATUNGANJ 4306.
h. SADPUR.
j. BHABANIPUR.
k. KARIMPUR.
l. MONSHIRHAT 4714.
m. BANCHANAGAR.
n. MIRPUR 43 13.
Vital grd is the piece of grd or feature the loss of which will render the def of the area
impossible or untenable. If the vital grd is dictated by higher comd then GTIs will be
discussed after appr. If it is not given then GTIs will be discussed before appr, because to
describe appr vital grd is must and this has to be found out form GTIs. GTIs can be
written as under also:
(3) Cover. Due to thick vegetation it provides good cover from both grd and air
obsn. It also provides ltd cover against flat trajectory wpn`s fire.

En
15 Deductions.
a. As en has armr and grd permits armd mov, therefore , my biasness of Atk def is
cfm.
b. Since en is likely to adv spear-headed by tks, so, I should separate tks from inf by
keeping prelim dml br at 468138.
c. Since en may by-pass so deductions drawn on EW elms are cfm.
d. Since en may contain us from the front and attk on the flanks, so, I should have all
rd def.
e. Deductions drawn in grd is cfm.
Relative Str
17. Deductions.
a. Since en has got adequate str in armr, therefore, my rd cratering deduction is cfm.
b. Since I have tk with me, I shall put them in area GR 463113 for facilitating C
attk.
c. Since en has got air superiority so my mov during day will be restricted and I
should select the flight path of the en air craft and place air sentries accordingly.
d. All other deductions cfm.
Assesment of Task.
19. Deductions. Since I have less tps and resources than I reqr, therefore, I shall ask
for addl tps. If I am not provided with addl tps and resources I would do the fol:
20. Timings.
23. Deduction.
a. Pri of App.
d. Likely EW.

l. Management og Resources. Since I have less tps and resources than I reqr,
therefore, I shall ask for addl tps. If I am not provided with addl tps and resources I would
do the fol:
(1) I should hold 5 GTIs (as above) by 3 inf coys and 1 composite pl
(2) I shall emp EW elms from depth coy
(3) I should have eff A tk obs parties to offset preponderance of en armr.
(4) I should use arty and mor successively for DFs.
(5) I should empl 2 pls from 2 depth coys for 2 screen posn
(6) Engr pl will be asst by aslt pnr pl and rifle man.
m. Timings.
(1) All recce palnning and orders must be completed not later than 061830 Jul
97.
(2) Mov from present loc to def posn not later than 061830 Jul 97.
(3) Screen to be in posn not later than 071600 Jul 97.
(4) Obs laying should start as soon as occupation is completed.
EN COURSES
(1) Main def will remain intact from en’s initial fire, screen will be interfered
first.
(2) En will open up fire from a long distance(due to obs infront) and own fwd
coys will come under frontal attk.
(3) We are likely to give our extent /frontage by en’s probing fire.
(4) We will have some scope feel en’s dir of threat and repulse.
(5) We will be able to deal with the en in the expected dir.
(6) As our depth will not be attk in the first wave, depth coys can bring down
fire on fwd coy locs once they are captured/over run.
(7) Own depth’s are likely to be hy engaged by en’s arty.
(8) Attk from expected dir.
