11.1.1 T e s t s on Mechanical P r o p e r t i e s of Bolt T h e t e s t s on mechanical ' p r o p e r t i e s of the bolt s h a l l c o n s i s t of the tension t e s t a n d h a r d n e s s t e s t d e s c r i b e d below: (1) Tension T e s t s of Bolt T h e tension t e s t s of t h e bolt s h a l l be c a r r i e d out f o r t h e t e s t p i e c e s machined from bolt a n d t h e full-size bolt. Inspection
12.1 S h a v e and D i m e n s i o n a l Inspection T h e inspection f o r the shape and d i m e n s i o n s of a s e t s h a l l b e p e r f o r m e d by t e s t i n g t h e b o l t , n u t and w a s h e r s c o n s t i t u t i n g t h e s e t by d i r e c t m e a s u r e m e n t , by employment of limit gauge o r by o t h e r s u i t a b l e m e a n s , a n d t h e t e s t r e s u l t s of e a c h p a r t s h a l l m e e t t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s s p e c i f i e d in 6.
12.2 S c r e w T h r e a d s I n s p e c t i o n T h e s c r e w t h r e a d s inspectioh f o r t h e bolt a n d nut s h a l l be c a r r i e d o u t by u s i n g t h e limit g a u g e s ( f o r 6 H a n d f o r 6 g) f o r m e t r i c c o a r s e s c r e w t h r e a d s s p e c i f i e d i n J I S B 0251 o r by employment of o t h e r s u i t a b l e s c r e w t h r e a d s i n s p e c t i n g i n s t r u m e n t , a n d t h e r e s u l t s s h a l l comply with t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s of 7 .
12.3 Appearance Inspection T h e a p p e a r a n c e inspection of a s e t shall be performed f o r t h e bolt, nut and w a s h e r s constituting t h e s e t , and the r e s u l t s of each p a r t s h a l l comply with t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s specified in 8.1 t o 8.3. The inspection f o r s u r f a c e d e f e c t s h a l l be made in a c c o r d a n c e with 11.3 and the s u r f a c e r o u g h n e s s inspection s h a l l be made visually o r with t h e aid of s u r f a c e r o u g h n e s s measuring instrument s p e c i f i e d in J I S B 0651 by comparing with the r o u g h n e s s comparison specimens specified in J I S B 0659.

Inspection o n . ~ e c h a n i c a P l roperties
12.4.1 Inspection on Mechanical P r o p e r t i e s of T e s t P i e c e s Machined from Bolt T h e inspection r e s u l t s on t h e mechanical p r o p e r t i e s of t e s t pieces mechined from bolts s h a l l comply with t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s of 4.1.1, when t h e t e s t p i e c e s a r e inspected on proof s t r e s s , t e n s i l e s t r e n g t h , elongation and reduction of a r e a in a c c o r d a n c e with the methods of 11.1.1 (1) (1.1). In t h i s inspection, the c e r t i f i e d l e v e l of quality of the inspection lot(4) s h a l l be l a i d down s o t h a t ' 1;s 0.125 % (5) ( a + 0 . 0 5 ) and 1:s 12.5$(6) ( 8<: 0.10). T h e sampling inspection plan should be p r e f e r a b l y in a c c o r d a n c e with t h e sampling inspection plan by v a r i a b l e s provided in J I S Z 9C03.
