RUNNING OF THE BULLS The running of the bulls is a famous tradition in which the people of Spain gather to be chased down the streets by bulls at 7 in the morning on 7th of July in San Fermines in Pamplona Culture of Spain has a heavy Latin influence. Romans also influence the Spanish culture because Spain was once a part of the Roman Empire. Roman architecture and art is common throughout Spain. MARTES DE CARNAVAL The Spanish hold many festivals for various reason such as rebirth and celebration. It is called Martes de Carnaval. It is very similar to an American Mardi Gras celebration. It takes place in Tenerife in the Canary Islands EASTER It takes place sometimes between March and April where we can see the most impressive religious sculptures on street parades. In Granada BULLFIGHTING Bullfighting in Spain today is a professional sport like any other. Spain is, and always has been, the spiritual home of bullfighting. The bullfighting season in Spain begins in February. In Las Ventanas in Madrid FLAMENCO DANCING Flamenco dancing is the traditional form of art that was developed by Gypsies in Spain. Women typically wear black, red or white frilly dresses with many ruffles, high heels, their hair in a bun, and a rose behind their ear. Men wear black or red tuxedo undershirts with classical pants that allow freedom. TOMATO FESTIVAL La Tomatina tomato fight in Buol near Valencia happens every year on the last Wednesday in August though the partying starts earlier in the week. The highlight of the festival is the tomato fight which takes place between 11am and 1pm on that day. ON NEW YEARS EVE On New Years Eve, every man, woman and child in Spain, at 12 a.m. has a grape at each strike of the clock to say welcome to the New year Three old men get into their house very late at night
