Task 4 A day in the life of an ICT teacher / Mapping Indoor Learning Environments

a) A Day in the Life of a local UAE ICT Teacher: Complete Table 1 outlining the many roles, duties and responsibilities of the local UAE ICT teacher over the course of the school day.

The teacher is arriving at this time and opening the computers in the classroom, organizes her work, because she has a class to teach in first period. The teacher is standing near her student and checking if they are doing the assembly. The teacher is teaching her first lesson of the day. The teacher is planning with the other ICT teacher. They are watching some videos in YouTube to see some creative ideas and try to apply it in their lesson. The teacher went with her colleagues to eat the breakfast and chat about things. The teacher begin her second lesson, and start teaching, she leaves the classroom and ask me to watch the students tell she get the worksheets. The teacher sat to organize files of students, and she was marking the projects of each student in grade 10. She asked me and Aisha to organize the files that had been marked and place it on disk at the back of the class. My mentor helped her in that and taught her how to upload. And she also told the math teacher that is important to know the picture size before uploading. Because sometime the website refuse to load the picture because the size. The teacher went to pray. Because my mentor is responsible for students grade, so the English teacher asked her to print grade 10 grades and names for her so she went and print it.

Hang in students work on The teacher hanged in some students work on flip the wall book on the wall. She also print out some encouraging words for students to get motivated, when they enter and see their works. The teacher Greeted the students, and ask about the attendance(who is absent and who is not) She showed students a video, but before it she asked them to focus on the movement of the pictures. After the video she asked them what did they saw, and then she generates a discussion. Then the teacher gives students a worksheet to create a story, and drew it in the work sheet.

The students greeted their teacher back, and ask about her ( how is she and so on) Students were watching the video, and they were showing interest about what they are watching. After the video the students were telling their thought about the video and what they saw. Students were thinking about the story, and they were drawing and pointing. The students opened their computers, started to sign in, and begin their drawing.

I really liked the teacher relationship with her students, and how they are comfortable with each other. Students were taking notes, even though the teacher did not ask them for it.

The teacher asked them to finish what they are doing and save their work, because the bell rung. She also asked them for those who did not finish, to finish their work at home and show it to her next week. The teacher told them to take care, and she will see them next week. and she said her goodbye.

Most of students were about to finish their work but the bell rung. Students save their works, and organized their thing before they leave.

The students were tidy, and they turn their chairs to their places and shout down their computers.

The students said goodbye to her too, and they went to their class.

Her knowledge about facebook is amazing; she is always in ICT room at break time, to see the updates in her account.

Maryam M

She has a strong tone of voice, and I can memorize or identify her from her voice. Besides, she has beautiful smile that I cant forget.

Mouza

Mouza is fluent in English, and she always practice her English inside and outside the class which really reminds me of my friend.

Fatima

I will remember Fatima with her punctuality, she always reminds the teacher with the time and she doesnt forget her break time.

Noof

I remember Nouf the most, because she always there to help me and Aisha with our things and staff. She is a really good person.

10 Shamma

Shamma always talk and use Korean vocabulary, which is the reason for me to remember her.

11 Asma

Asma always bring her book of history to study in break time.

12 Noora

Noora always use the word okay at the end of each sentence. She also liked to open YouTube and watch Americans shows.
