Baked chickpeas (Revithada)

Ingredients
1 kilo dried chickpeas
2 -3 sliced onions
1/2 litre olive oil
salt
Preparation
The night before, soak the chickpeas in a large bowl with plenty of water.
In the morning, drain and rinse the chickpeas very well.
Put the chickpeas in a large clay pot (preferably with a lid). Add the sliced onions, the olive oil and the salt.
Stir well to mix all the ingredients and add water to cover the chickpeas by about 3cm. Put the lid on and
bake for 4 to 5 hours at 180 C.
Serve with lemon juice.
