PART ONE
OFFENSIVE LINE FUNDAMENTALS 2 MAN ZONES 3 MAN ZONES KEYS TO ANTICIPATING D-LINE MOVEMENT PRE-PRACTICE DRILLS

Pre Practice Philosophy

STEAL TIME: With Offensive Lineman there is so many things that need to be accomplished in a week of preparation and Pre Practice is 10 minutes to work fundamentals before stretch. SET THE TEMPO: Offensive Lineman need to come prepared to work. They need to know and everyone else needs to know they will be the hardest working group on the field. EMPHASIS ON SPEED: Each drill will take 4-5 minutes. There is limited rest between reps. All the drills you do not need to be stretched for, but they do get you loose for stretch. BODY POSITION: Use Bag Agility and Cone Drills. Mirror Drill they must make each other work, so pair them up by depth chart (Competition creates good work habits). Twist Drill works Eyes and Fits. CONDITIONING: The speed and tempo of the drills help get into offensive line shape. Offensive lineman need play with good body position and quick feet for short bursts with limited rest, not be able to run marathons. The goal is that by the end of pre practice they are winded. THINGS YOU WILL NOTICE: Morale and Pride in the group will improve. They will bond together. They will actually look forward to Pre Practice, because they will realize that the drills directly carry over to game situations. Always make sure your drills serve a purpose, and make sure they fit for the opponent that week. Their conditioning will improve and they will be more effective in the 4th quarter.

PART TWO
2 BACK ZONE RUN SCHEMES TEAR CONCEPT AWAY CONCEPT FORCE CONCEPT WEAK CONCEPT

TEAR CONCEPT
THIS CONCEPT IS USED ON INSIDE ZONE AS A BACKSIDE BLOCKING ADJUSTMENT. BS TACKLE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS PLAYSIDE ZONE. FB OR 2ND TE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BACKSIDE END MAN ON LOS. QB MIKE RULE: THE TRUE MIKE. IF FORCE IS UNBLOCKABLE BY WR, PUSH THE POINT PLAYSIDE. THIS TAG ALERTS THE O-LINE THAT THE MAN BLOCKING THE BS EMOL IS COMING FROM THE FRONTSIDE OF THE FORMATION, SO THE LBS FLOW WILL BE DIFFERENT. USED PRIMIARLY VS UNDER FRONTS, BUT IS GOOD VS ALL FRONTS.

AWAY CONCEPT
THIS CONCEPT IS USED ON INSIDE ZONE AS A BACKSIDE BLOCKING ADJUSTMENT. BS TACKLE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BACKSIDE END MAN ON LOS. FB OR 2ND TE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WLB. THIS TAG ALERTS THE O-LINE THAT THE LBS FLOW WILL BE THE SAME AS ON SPLIT FLOW. QB MIKE RULE: THE TRUE MIKE. IF FORCE IS UNBLOCKABLE BY WR, PUSH THE POINT PLAYSIDE. USED PRIMIARLY VS OVER FRONTS, BUT IS SOMETIMES USED VS 34 FRONT. VS 3-4 FRONT: THE BS TACKLE & BS GUARD USE A FAN TECHNIQUE, AND THE AWAY BLOCKER INSERTS ON THE BS ILB.

FORCE CONCEPT
THIS CONCEPT IS USED ON OUTSIDE ZONE AND INSIDE ZONE AS A PLAYSIDE BLOCKING ADJUSTMENT. FB OR 2ND TE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FORCE PLAYER. O-LINE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BOX. QB MIKE RULE: FIND THE FORCE PLAYER AND COUNT TWO SPOTS BACK. CAN BE USED AS FORCE BLOCKER FROM BACKFIELD OR FROM A WING SET. SHRED TAG: MAY BE USED TO HAVE A WR BE BACKSIDE HOLD OFF BLOCKER ON THE EMOL.

WEAK CONCEPT
THIS CONCEPT IS USED ON OUTSIDE ZONE TO SE SIDE. FB OR 2ND TE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WLB. O-LINE: IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MLB & SLB. QB MIKE RULE: LEAVE ONE FOR THE FB OR 2ND TE. IF FORCE IS UNBLOCKABLE BY WR, THE FORCE PLAYER IS COUNTED AS THE LEAVE ONE. IS AN EASY PLAY TO CHANGE THE LOOK FOR DEFENSE WITH FORMATION OR MOTION.
